Half time keys to the game review:
Tommy is playing out of his mind. The goals that have gone in were deserved. You're not going to blank Dook but this is just about as close as it gets. A couple of saves were rebounded back into play and right in to Dook sticks giving them a few extra opportunities. If he can do a better job of controlling those, that's just about the only area for improvement for him in the second half.
Defense is playing patient. Not sliding too early and relying on their 1:1 coverage. And the coverage has been very solid. Slides create opportunities for the offense. If you don't have to slide you take a lot of opportunity away. Nice job by the D.
Withers started slow and really picked it up. Started 2 of 6 and then got the next 7 before giving up the last FO in the half. So 9 /14 64.3%. He's doing his thing.
A couple of TOs by the attack today but it's been due to good Dook Defense. Not coming from sloppy sticks or from trying to force shit that isn't there. On that note, some of the things that they've been able to put inside the high crease have been impressive today. Off ball movement is creating issues for Dook and openings for our shorties. Some very solid dodging from Eric and Tre at attack today as well.
I gave four keys to the game and they're 4 for 4 right now. That's gonna get you a 9-4 lead in the elite eight at half. Now they just have to do it all over again. I'm sure that there will be some adjustments from Danowski in the Dook locker room, but Nick has been keeping fresh legs out on the field... and with TOP really in our favor, our Defense should be well rested.
