Ohio State Men's Lacrosse (2013 ECAC Champions)

Made it through the first three quarters last night before passing out. Was up at 3:00 AM to catch a flight for a NYC day trip yesterday so I just didn't have it in me to make it through the full game. But, they really looked good v. Hop. Withers was back to being dominate. Leclair is a badass. I can't believe that we have him for three more years. Lordy he's going to be fun to watch.

For it being as wet as it was they moved the ball very well. I think that they were much more aggressive last night than normal. Seems like in our losses we've settled into an offensive scheme that tries to work the inside game or the outside game. Yesterday, they did a great job of recognizing when they had a good matchup for dodging and took advantage of free hands for outside step downs. On that note, both Leclair and Pearson's velocity has to have the opposing netminders' knees knocking. Geeez they can let it fly. While Trey does this well, I'd love to see Johnny fake the step down to draw the defender and then dodge. I know that's not really his game -- and his frame may not allow for it the way it plays for Trey -- but I'd love to see him be able go to the hole. Given his size and velocity he'd be lethal from 10-15 feet. Like send someone to the hospital lethal at that range.

Can't wait for Saturday.

Lost 10-9. Hell of a game. Few mistakes on either side. Make no mistake about it, there is some very good lacrosse being played by the Bucks this year.

A bit of a letdown, but hell... UMD is the best team in the country for my money. I think that the Domers, even falling to the West Pointers today, are a close second.

The tourney will be a lot of fun this year. A lot of parity. Almost any of the seeds are capable of beating any other seed on a given day.

Selection Sunday is tomorrow. We'll see where they land. In the beginning of the year I thought they were an 8-12 team. The last few weeks? Maybe a 4-7?

Hope we get to see a B1G / ACC showdown. Really, the two were the class of lacrosse all season. It's so nice to be able to say that. I thought that with the addition of Hop and UMD that we'd get some instant cred, but it's good to see that the rest of the league has elevated play such that the newcomers are only part of the conversation as opposed to being the conversation.

Well, I have to say that I'm not feeling well about the game Sunday. This tourney has gone 100% against what I would have hoped for. So the heart is 0-4 for the day. Not feeling good because the head isn't much better. 2-2 for how I thought things would have gone. I had State Penn, Duke, Denver and UNC.

Hope that Sunday is better for the head and heart.

Heart:
Bucks, UMD, Marquette, Anyone but Cuse-- so, I guess I'll root for Yale.

Head: Bucks, UMD, Domers, Cuse.
