Best Buckeye

Pretending I'm a pleasant person is exhausting.

This Saturday the Buckeyes travel to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers.
This is the away B10 opener for the Buckeyes against Minn. who lost their B10 opener.
The game is slated to be shown on the BTN.

The Gophers have been playing well and should be tough to beat at home. A good challenge for our boys, especially given the personnel changes since our early road wins. :osu:

There's been only one "personnel change" since the early "road" games that was detrimental to the team this year.

Hopefully OSU will manage to eek out a win in what's hopefully their last game with 9 scholarship players this season.

Minnesota is likely to drop out of the top-25 regardless of what happens in this game because of their home loss to MSU and, quite frankly, they aren't one of the top-25 teams in the country.

I might be wrong but I think the "personnel changes" he was referring to was Lighty's being out but again I might be wrong.

I don't think that the Gophers are one of the top 25 teams (I'm not sure we are either) in the country but at home they are a very difficult out and they also play a very physical (non-Musselman) type of basketball and put a lot of pressure on the ball. This will be a very difficult game for Ohio State.

I know that every game is important but this one is especially because it is the first conference away game. It would be great to go out and take an away game.
I know you meant first conference away game so I made that correction. :)

I don't know what to think of this game. The Gophers got fat on cupcakes but in order to do that a team still has to play good ball to avoid the occasional upset. The thing that concerns me about this game is Tubby's team can knock down the outside shot almost as good as Iowa... if the Ohio State zone doesn't close out on those shooters we could see another repeat of the Iowa game.

Oh, and rebounding. Tubby's teams usually rebound well and as we have seen so far this year Ohio State has a tough time rebounding against a physical team.

Missed the Iowa game but it was nice to see them bounce back from that WVU disaster. If we can get consistant scoring out of Diebler and Mullens to play more consistant its an easy in for the tourney. This team still has a long way to go but the consistant play on the defensive side gives me hope for a 20 win season. Hopefully diebler continues what he did againts Iowa.
