Game Thread Ohio State at Michigan State, 11/19/16, 12p ET ESPN/WatchESPN

Our LBs seem to really struggle with shedding blocks at times. There have been several plays where the correct defense has been called and one of the linebackers is in the right spot, but he allows himself to get taken out of the play.

its not just tOSU's lb's. i kind of think its part of a technique that is taught to "plug the hole". when i played lb i typically refused to do it preferring to pick a side to deny the rb and putting my opposite forarm violently into the earhole of whoever was foolish enough to come try to block me. which typically became an intentional whiff by the middle of the 3rd. but yeah, ive never understood that concept for lb's. but everyone seems to do it *shrug*.

on the long first down sparty had. i think hookers youth was shown pretty clearly. he allowed himself to be blocked by a lineman already blocking someone else because he was trying to set the edge. on a wide play like that to the short side of the field... the edge is already set. its called the out of bounds line :p. so much talent, so much youth lol.
