Gonzalez's selection lifts OSU to top spot
When Anthony Gonzalez slipped underneath the coverage yesterday to become the last first-round pick of the NFL draft -- the longest first round ever, at 6 hours, 8 minutes -- he pushed Ohio State to the top of a list. The Buckeyes now are No. 1 in all-time No. 1s.
With Gonzalez, taken by the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts, joining fellow junior receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who was taken by the Miami Dolphins at No. 9, the Buckeyes' total of first-round draft choices moved to 66. That's one more than Southern California, which was shut out in the opening round.
