Rivals $ - Lewis exploring options

Making an official to Ohio this weekend.

Wow. Wasn't expecting that.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a feel for how OU's admissions standards compare to ours? My impression is that tOSU's standards are much higher than they were when I started.

Without the benefit of knowing anything about his life situation, Fork Union seems like a better route.

The simple fact that he is visiting OU, at this point in his recruitment, seems to indicate that the admission standards at OSU are higher. The general undergraduate admissions standards at OSU are higher than OU's, so that probably is a good indication. I graduated from OU and just speaking out of personal experience with OU football players, the admission standards have to be pretty low...

Roger could do worse though. OU has had pretty good receivers come through in the past couple of years in Taylor Price and Lavon Brazill. If he doesnt feel like OSU is the right place for him in the future, then it would be great to see him at OU.

i went to ohio state in 2000 and at that time, OU's academic standards were higher then tOSU's...i know ohio state recently raised theirs but i cannot see it being higher then OU's...i guess roger lewis maybe is proving that point that tOSU's are now higher

OU's are MUCH lower. I honestly don't know a single kid from my high school class last year who was turned down by OU.

pretty crazy because it was the exact opposite when i was graduating high school in 2000...im not ashamed to say that i didnt have the best grades in high school...i think i was in the 2.5 range GPA, and my highest ACT score was 22...i applied for both Ohio State and OU and was turned down by OU, without even a shot of attending OU in the spring to try and improve my grades while at school...Ohio State accepted me with open arms and im glad they did...i always loved visiting my friends at OU once ever 2 months, but i cannot imagine living there every single day

This is not the thread for this... nor does it seem possible that you missed ORD's hundreds (literally) of breakdowns on OSU's superiority compared to other ohio schools. It was his entire existence on BP until the scandals of the past year surfaced.

It's been well documented by ORD and many others that those standards have changed dramatically.

None of which has any relevance to an applicant majoring in football who will have a second major of undetermined consequence.

Not to beat a dead horse, but man things have changed in a decade. I graduated from a college prep high school in 2010 and OSU was BY FAR the hardest Ohio school to get into. As an example, my friend was accepted in Miami (OH) with a nice academic scholly, but got turned away from OSU. She had a 3.6 and a 27 ACT from a college prep school. Needless to say, the admissions at Ohio State are head and shoulders above any other public university within the state.

I just graduated last summer from OSU...when I did, the average ACT was a 27...pretty high. All I know is that some of my friends that didn't get into OSU got into OU. OU has high standards now, just not as high as OSU. In terms of undergraduate, they ranked 124 vs. OSU at #54...not really a big disparity, I feel the ACT avg is not a big disparity. If grades were the issue, I would think that Toledo or Akron would be more likely.

I know people who got into OU this past year with 18-20 on the ACT. I know a guy who got into Miami with a 21. I know people that got turned down from OSU with 27 and up, that were well-qualified. The value of an OSU degree has skyrocketed over the past 6 years or so.

Back in 1987, I took the ACT. I had them send the results to 3 schools, including OU and OSU. ACT made an error and graded my test against the wrong grid of answers. I received a score of "8". BEFORE the error was corrected, I got a letter from OU stating: Based on my ACT score, I had been accepted.

For the last several years OSU has been the hardest public school to get into in OH. There was an article a few years back where kids were using Miami, which always seemed to be the benchmark, as a backup plan. Being an OSU alumnus (who I am sure would not get accepted under today's standards) I shared the article with a few obnoxious Miami alums I worked with.

I lucked out. Got into OSU in 2005 with a 21 but had a good list of extra curriculars. That year, and years after I heard of people getting 26+ and being turned away.

I felt smart
