Ohio State 92, Memphis 76 (Final)

I know that Memphis likes to get out and run, but how is their perimeter shooting?? Is it anywhere near the ability of Tenn? If not, I think we are in really good shape. As long as GO stays out of foul trouble and he doesn't start sucking wind in the 3rd Quarter.

This one should be easier. They won't be shooting 9/15 from 3 and they're also a terrible free throw shooting team. I want to see Conley driving all game long and either finishing, kicking it out to a 3 point shooter, or dishing it to Oden. We do that and we win by 10.

regarding the 'terrible free throw shooting,' when the chips are down, they flat out make them...

i haven't even looked at the thread from the Tennessee game, because my connection was down yesterday, but all i have to say about that is, anyone who still questions this team's heart and mental toughness should be dinged into oblivion.

their season percentage from behind the arc is only a couple percentage points lower than tennessee's. that stated, memphis doesn't receive the perimeter pressure that tennessee receives. the vols' percentage from the outside should be a bit lower than their actual ability. if memphis gets hot from the outside, it's likely because we're having difficulty maintaining their dribble drive penetration to kickouts to open shooters.

Chris Douglas-Roberts was an Ohio State recruiting target. He's turned out to be just as good (if not a little better) than he was advertised.

Xavier and Tennessee scared Ohio State because of the three-ball. Bottom line. Can Memphis stroke it like those guys did?

Ohio State, unfortunately, dominates no one. Even if we match up pretty well with Memphis, there is no reason to believe we will be comfortable all game long.

NO Chance Memphis shoots the 3 the same as UT did...6 of the first 8 the vols made...i think memphis can be broken down by the dribble penetration...a and m did that pretty well...i would build my plan around conley driving, finishing and dishing...i also think memphis get 3 happy and can shoot themselves out of the game..osu needs to get rebounds..limit memphis to just 1 shot...memphis lives off turnovers and they have not seen a P guard as good as conley this season...i think memphis makes some dumb decisions at time....and let them press...osu showed they can break it and got some easy hoops against UT that way

I don't know about Memphis but we seem to be improving quite a bit.
for the tournament, ohio state has shot 61%, 85%, and 66% from the free throw line. memphis has shot 70%, 77%, and 67%. though there is some disparity between the two teams in overall (season) free throw percentage, it's the shooting during the ncaa tournament that matters. based on the tournament so far, there is not much difference between the two teams with their free throw shooting. i just hope that if there is a player at the line late in the game, it is either butler or lewis.
