Ohio State 88, Ashland 59 (Final)

I've been bitching to the local cable people about the BTN. I knew it would be great to have for all other sports. I'll call again tomorrow. Very happy to see the JO keys to the game for this year. :osu:

Brett Bartlett (SR, G, 6-0, 15.5 ppg., 3.3 apg.);
Steve Gansey (SR, G, 6-3, 5.9 ppg., 1.4 rpg.);
Tyler Rosenberger (JR, F, 6-6, 5.2 ppg., 4.3 rpg.)

KK, Hunter, Lighty, Butler, and Deibler

I was going to do some kind of comparison thing but I see I am just getting ahead of myself and that this practice game is going to be just that, Ashland meat for the Buckeye grinder.

:oh:

Grabbed some Skyline here at the office before heading down to the game. I may not know if you're in my section, but you'll know if I'm in yours. :pimp:

Same Butler
Same Twigs.
Hunter still athletic
Lighty very much better, more poised.
Wallace, I liked him he didn't rush shots and was into the game. I can see him getting playing time.
KK About as expected. He will find it harder against bigger , or more experienced foes.
Turner is very athletic, he will be good with experience
Pj , quick, he needs to learn to be a playmaker at this level.
Deibler about what I expected for the hype , he will be an awesome player in time.
Lauderdale looked pretty good, needs work
Madsen is a work in progress.
Overall the team looked about what I expected for the youth and inexperience. There was slopiness at times and real continuity at times.
the overall defense looked pretty good against ashland but we need to work
as a team on both sides of the ball.
But I definitely can see this team going places if Matta can mold them into one.

My thoughts on another board at half. Not much changed in the second half. Butler's shot is still not fantastic, but he did have some nice dimes...

Intersting to see what Koufos will do against other guys his size. Right now he is so big he can dominate.
Diebler is really raw. Will be a good scorer in time. Needs work on D.
Hunter looks much more confident, playing good D, and moving the ball/getting open well.
Butler is a great PG. He is the team MVP.
Lighty is picking up where he left off and then some. 2nd most important guy next to Butler.
Turner looks like the real deal. Need to see his shot more.
Wallace and Lauderdale are physical freeks. Very raw, but huge upsides.
Twig is nice for some low court experience, and Madsen is another nice big body down low.
I have major questions about Hill. Looks a little out of control. Needs to not turn the ball over.

Overall a lot of what I expected...

Matta played everyone with everyone trying to find combinations that will work...

This is going to be a great defensive team, we are so quick, long, have guys inside to block shots, and are strong enough to rebound...

Butler looks quicker this year...

Hunter looks bigger, and is poised for a big season...

Twig looks more within himself, but still we know what we are going to get...

Lighty is going to take his game to the next level this year...

KK is also going to have some very big games...We all know what he can do, but everytime you I see a seven footer put the ball on the floor like he does it is still amazing...

Diebler is going to have big games when he is hot...He is ready to shoot everytime he touches the ball...

Hill looks very quick out there...

Wallace looked a little better than I expected...I think he is going to get more pt than I expected...

Turner looked sluggish out there, but he will be ok...

Lauderdale is huge, he is going to get lots of minutes for his defense...

Madsen looks solid, and will get some minutes, but he still needs a little work...
