I saw a lot of their game vs IU. They kept it closer than it should have been but it was more a case of them playing out of their skulls than because they are that good imo(multiple banked 3's etc). Plus I think they are pretty banged up.

On our side of it you just never know what you are going to get from this team effort wise and I'm guessing the Schott might be pretty sedate after Monday night and this being a not so glamourous game on paper.

We should win and be 3-0 in B10 play but we shall see. I take nothing for granted with a team this young.

Butler is sick :(

Columbus Dispatch

Butler battling stomach flu

Coach Thad Matta said after Jamar Butler went scoreless against Northwestern on Sunday that he thought his senior point guard looked tired late in the game.

Butler had good reason.

He said yesterday that he has lost 10 pounds since Sunday because of stomach flu. He missed practice Monday and expected to do little yesterday but said he will "suck it up" and play 40 minutes if necessary tonight against Iowa.

"It's conference play now," he said.

Butler said he did not feel he was getting his legs into his shot Sunday. He did have 11 assists and 10 rebounds, however, in OSU's 62-51 win.

"Right after the game I started feeling really tired and my body was hurting," he said. "A few hours later, whew. ... I'm down to (175 pounds)."

Butler said he slept through the OSU football team's loss to LSU on Monday night.

Boy, I don't know. If Butler Can't give us a good 35-40 minutes we could be in trouble if it weren't for the fact we are playing Iowa:).

When PJ got in the game against Illinois, it seemed like our offense almost came to a grinding halt. Nothing against PJ but I don't think he has learned our offense quite yet and certainly is not the caliber of shooter of Butler. PJ just seems to want to dribble around the perimeter without doing a whole lot. Let's get Butler hydrated for tonight's game.

Game Preview

? TV: Big Ten Network.
? Radio: WBNS-AM (1460), WBNS-FM (97.1)
? Records: Ohio State 11-3 overall, 2-0 Big Ten; Iowa 7-8, 0-2

? Matchup to watch: Ohio State's zone defense must account for Iowa guard Justin Johnson, who leads the Big Ten in three-point field goals per game (3.6). He made six in the final 1:55 last Wednesday to nearly erase a double-figure deficit against Indiana. Wisconsin did a better job Saturday of limiting his shots. Eighteen of Johnson's 23 field-goal attempts in the two games were from outside the arc.

? Noteworthy: Ohio State has started 3-0 in the Big Ten only twice (1991, 2002) in the past 25 years. ... The Buckeyes have won seven consecutive games and are 10-0 vs. unranked teams. ... Iowa and Michigan State are the only Big Ten teams with winning records (4-3) in Value City Arena
? Next up: at Purdue, 4 p.m. Saturday.
