I'm in florida (spring break) and talk radio is saying "Packer was a homer for the Bucks"...and "they were glad Matta didn't give Oden a rest, afraid that Butler & Co. would find their 3's"...Alot of "whining" for "winning the game"

This happens with every game between two top teams. If you are really surprised by this you have not been following sports for too long.

Feels nice to finally be relevant in collegiate athletics, doesn't it?

The only dissapointment of the trip to Atlanta was the lack of OSU support from the fan base. Granted, its like a 5 hour drive for UF fans and 8-9+ for OSU fans, relatively short notice, Monday night game, etc. (not to mention all the SEC/UF supporters in the South) but I expected a bigger turnout. What seems almost flattering as an Ohio State fan is the sheer level of hatred, insecurity, and volitility coming from a fairly large majority of Gator fans. To get that kind of rise from an opposing school's fan-base (something I haven't experienced in a long time, even at scUM games) was a very unique experience. The chants, the hazing, and the tension seemed like we as a team collectively shitted in their cheerios, and ran over their dogs - rather than losing to them (and 3 times at that!). We must be doing something right to get that kind of response from a school we barely play.

I guess I don't get it. I mean, when OSU won the NC in 02, I never felt compelled to sign up to Cane's sites and say shit to them. I mean, hell, with the late flag and all, I really could have done some damage... but.... it never even occurred to me to go trolling.

What's the allure? Is this the "poor winner" thing my little league coaches used to warn me about?

Well I mean you have to consider something, FSU, Miami and Florida are all major programs in the same state. Where I am at we have USC and UCLA and there's all these "I am fans of local sports teams" fans, ie: bandwagon fans. So as Florida has success, they get the same morons who were following Miami around, and FSU before that.
