I wish Matta would spread out the "second stringers" a little better. I'm not a fan of switching out Hunter/KK/Lighty for Dallas/Twigs/Diebs at the same time. I like those backups playing, but I wish Matta would stagger when those guys come in.

Anyways, I don't really think we're a bubble team right now. I think as things are right now, we're in. I think a lose at Michigan puts us on the bubble, but a 17-8 Buckeye team is NOT a bubble team. Granted, our best win is Florida, but if this team puts 20 wins on the board, with loses to NC, Butler, Tenn, Texas AM, Indiana, MSU, that's plenty good enough for Madness.

Oh, maybe he does that in the first half but in the second half Lauderdale does not come in that much and it is usually Twig and Hunter on the floor and KK pouts off. Diebler coming off the bench these days is a good thing especially the way Lighty is shooting. Many coaches do multiple substitutions. It is really not that unusual especially when the players are almost equal in talent.

Totally agree.

Lunardi (Bracketology) has us a nine seed, facing Vandy in the first round and Duke in the second. Hope and pray that we get another quality win, because that's a one-weekend draw fo sho.

Ohio_State_Buckeyes_02-17-08_C5_D41A543.jpg

1 p.m. today
? Where: Crisler Arena, Ann Arbor, Mich.
? TV: CBS
? Radio: WBNS-AM (1460)
? Records: Ohio State 17-8, 8-4; Michigan 7-17, 3-9
? Matchup to watch: DeShawn Sims scored Michigan's first six points, four off offensive rebounds, when the teams played 12 days ago. But he played only three more minutes in the first half and 15 for the game for reasons coach John Beilein didn't provide. Sims is the best offensive rebounder on the best offensive-rebounding team (11.9 a game) in the Big Ten.
? Noteworthy: Ohio State is 2-2 in February. Coach Thad Matta's first three OSU teams were 4-3, 6-1 and 7-0 in February. ... The Buckeyes' three Big Ten road wins (Illinois, Penn State, Northwestern) have been by an average of 15.3 points. ... Othello Hunter has the best field-goal percentage (.636) and Michigan's Ekpe Udoh the best blocked-shot average (2.67 per game) in Big Ten play. ... Michigan has won its past two games, over Penn State and at Iowa. The Wolverines scored 16 points in the first half at Iowa and 44 in the second to win 60-52.
? Next: Wisconsin, 4 p.m. next Sunday, Value City Arena

Interesting to read through that article. Two big things that I totally forgot from last year:

1. Michigan really played us tough last year in AA. We actually only escaped with a 4 point win.
2. The Wisky/Bucks game at the end of the year was #1 vs #2??? I completely forgot that. I remember it was on a Sunday afternoon, because I had to watch it in a hotel room in Chicago - I was there for a business trip... but the magnitude of the game was completely forgotten. (or is it "misremembered"?)

What concerns me about this game is that often the weasels will play a 1-3-1 zone and extend it pretty far out. We should not be sloppy with the ball like we were against Northwestern and we are going to have to shoot well from the outside. Hopefully, the weasels got all of their good outside shooting done at Iowa.

What concerns me about this game is that we are concerned about it. I am not concerned about what Scum is going to do, I am more concerned about how we play at times. Are we playing down to some teams? Are we just having another off day. How good is this team? We think in the back of our minds that we should beat this team easily yet we are worried about playing them.
As some people think , we are a bubble tea, for the Dance and it remains to be seen if this team has the where with all to get there.
I sure hope so.

GO BUCKEYES
