Evan Turner said:"We had Jon Diebler open. He's one of the best 3-point shooters any of us have ever seen. He didn't hit, but he'll come back tomorrow and hit those nine times out of 10," Turner said.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- It might be difficult to fathom how a three-game losing streak could be where the Ohio State men's basketball team turned its season for the better.
But it might have yesterday.
"We can be a very good team if we play that hard all the time," freshman Evan Turner said. "Some of our losses in the past wouldn't have (happened) if we played as hard as we did today."
The young Buckeyes found some heart and production to go with veteran point guard Jamar Butler in a 74-69 loss to No. 6 Tennessee in Thompson-Boling Arena. Not enough to avoid their third consecutive loss, but it was the most convincing evidence yet that they surely if slowly are closing the gap between the team they are and the team coach Thad Matta thinks they can be.
"You want to say you're proud of the guys, which I am," Matta said. "But we didn't get what we came for, which is the hard part."

Every time I have seen Turner and Diebler together I've seen a really good chemistry -- kind of surprising given that they are not from the same area, same AAU team, etc.crazybuckfan40;1070348; said:Quote from Turner after the game...Not something like he needed more help...It was one that came from a young frosh and not one that is leading the team...Big props for Turner backing up his teammate because he knows just like all of us that it is just a matter of time before Diebs gets real hot and starts knocking them shots down on a consistent basis...
It is all about needing both of them to contribute and not just one of them...

Frankly, I see this as being Evan Turner's team in the next 3 years (or as long as he chooses to stay).

I think Evan Turner will continue to develop as a leader of this team, in a way that Kosta Koufos for example will not. (JMO, and not a slam on Kosta.)
