He cant he has to stay unbiased he is in the announcing field.

Unbiased is onething but man he seems to be going a bit over trying to not have a hint of bias in anything he says that he sounds as if he is supporting Stat Penn.

FWIW Joe asked to coach from his home in the off-season. Literally, he asked if for practices he could stay home.

So yes, he is nothing more than figure-head. It's been talked about in the Joe Paterno thread.
