Game Thread Ohio State 58, Northwestern 7 (final)

So does any one know the TV schedule yet?

I just went on ESPN and they don't have it.

I noticed this last night watching the Miami v Texas A&M game. In the scroll it mentioned that in Ohio and Chicago the game will be on ABC instead of ESPN.

Anyone else see it? And yes I am too lazy to go find a link to confirm.

Northwestern has been running the spread with Basanez and Bacher the last two years, and we destroyed them both times. In fact, after Basanez led NW to a TD in the 2005 game's opening drive in The Shoe, we've outscored NW 102-10. GTFOH.
GTFOH? Go The Fuck On Home?

Ohio State is a Big Ten Team.

Big Ten Teams don't have the speed to defend the spread.

Therefore, Ohio State can't defend against the spread.

Q.E.D.
Best point of the thread. We're dooommmeeedddd.

Buckguy is implying it was likely another fan (like a buckeye) making fun of the NW denial, as was seen in the original post of that thread.

Actually, I believe that OSU_Buckguy was stating that the word 'through' was not used as a preposition in that instance.

Never end a sentence with a preposition...

devil's advocate: "appearances can be deceiving."

I'm not sure where the comment is going but if it's in reference to the "information minister" (Tariq Aziz) who was clearly in denial when he stood in front his people. For the poster from NW as the "mis-information minister"; the Buckeyes will be there to give you a game.

There shouldn't be any denying that Tyrell Sutton will be there too. This guy could make a difference for the Cats unless we contain him. Laurinaitis will need to keep him in check.

So if "appearances can be deceiving", the Buckeyes should play the way they played last week to be on the safe side.

Go Bucks :osu:

Heh. I believe that Buckguy is noting that "through" appears to be a preposition, but in the context in which the creator used it, it is not acting as one.

I'm sure he can explain it better than I can. :tongue2:

Eyesight failing you, old-timer? :p

Football: 1942 National Championship Team to be Recognized at Halftime of Northwestern Game

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Ohio State?s contest vs. Northwestern Saturday marks the 500th football game played in Ohio Stadium. At halftime, Buckeye fans will be able to celebrate the occasion with members of Ohio State?s first national championship squad from 1942.

Paul Brown, a coaching legend in both the collegiate and professional ranks, guided the 1942 Buckeyes to a 9-1 record and outscored opponents by an average of 34 to 11. Ohio State finished the season ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press national polls.

Brown is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Others from the 1942 team with that distinction include Dante Lavelli, an offensive end, and Bill Willis, a tackle for the Buckeyes who claimed All-America honors in 1943. The trio combined to lead the Cleveland Browns to the 1950 NFL Championship.

The Buckeyes had a total of five All-Americans on the 1942 team. Charles Csuri, Gene Fekete, Lindell Houston, Paul Sarringhaus and Robert Shaw all gained All-America accolades.

Csuri, Fekete, Lavelli, Shaw and Willis are among the 1942 team members scheduled to attend the game Saturday. All members of the team and those representing 1942 players will be available for interviews on the field following the team?s recognition at halftime. Interviews will be held on the south sideline.

Pronunciation Guide:
Charles Csuri (surrey)
Gene Fekete (feck-eh-tee)
Dante Lavelli (lah-vell-lee)

And I owe bp.wiki some more entries for members of that team.

Question

NU fan dropping by.

Is there a station that streams online for free that I can listen to to hear the Paul Keels broadcast? I like flipping back and forth between our guys on WGN and the opposing teams broadcasters.

I know it used to be on 1460 The Fan but its not free over there anymore.

Anyone know any other station that might have it?

Thanks and here's to a good game tommorow.

GO CATS!

Game 1 against a 1AA opponent? 36 page thread at kickoff.
Game 2 against annual in-state MAC sacrificial lamb? 14 page thread at kickoff.
Game 3 against traditional BCS conference power? 39 page thread at kickoff.

Game 4 ... approx 24 hours to kickoff? 11 pages (half of which are commentary of Scout/Rivals message boards, and farked images).

Uh huh. Must be Northwestern week!

At current rate, the '08/'09 Southern Cal thread should pass this one by kickoff tomorrow.
