Ohio State 47, Coppin State 39 (Final)

Good win. Matta is trying different line ups to see how they mesh. Hill played a lot better tonight and looked like a point guard. Turner did well 13 points, I believe. Hunter played well.

Jimmy Jackson said that rebounding is effort.

The effort is there, but sometimes the younger players on this team get caught flat-footed on the boards.

I hate to say it, but if Coppin State doesn't run out of gas at the end, it might have been very different.

But a win is a win.

From what I heard, I'd have to disagree with the "good" part of your statement. It counts in Matta's quest for another 20-win season, but this was as bad of a win as you can have in my opinion. Out-rebounded, turn-overs gallore, poor shooting by key players, no emphasis on inside shot selection, and even bad foul shooting - all against a vastly inferior opponent. I'll take a W, but this was a downright crappy win.

Just my honest 2 cents.

Any win for a team this young is a "good" win

team looked flat the entire night. Koufos needs to take over these games, hes been a ghost recently. Terwilliger should not be taking 3's (yes i know he hit a big one). Evan Turner was extremely impressive along with P.J. Hill. Othello Hunter is hustling and playing pretty well so far this year, to the point where I think he needs a bigger offensive presence even though thats not necessarily his best facet. If we want to win games against team that should stay within 25 in the future we really need Koufos to take over inside against smaller opponents and not look for the medium-long range shot as his first option.

I respectfully disagree. If Matta is patting those guys on the back and telling them this was a good win, I'd be immensely disappointed.

Yeah, they played like they expected CSU to just roll over, and honestly, if they shoot better we would probably have a different emotion during this thread. The talent is there, the shot selection sucks and our offensive rebounding is just offensive.
