Game Thread Ohio State 45, Northwestern 10 (Nov. 8)

Guiness taste fucking horrible...lets just get that out of the way.

There were even Buckeye fans bitching about this. WTF...when hes conservative Buckeye fans bitch and then when he stomps on someones throat they bitch.

I remember Tom Osbourne beat (Baylor or Rice in the 90's IIRC) 70-0. The coach from the other squad didn't shake his hand. In the press conference they asked Osbourne about why he ran the score up...this was his reply (paraphrasing0...I played everyone but my redshirts...If your starters cannot stop my 3rd string too bad because my kids deserve a chance to play in a situation like that. I'm gonna reward them when I get the chance. He also stated how he told his QB to let the defense know where the plays were going and they still couldn't stop them.

IN OTHER WORDS HES WAS SAYING GET BETTER PLAYERS AND STFU.

I haven't read through all 56 pages of responses but I just wanted to add a few comments about the game:

1.) Who was doing the camera work for this game? Was this outsourced to the Helen Keller school of photography? I've seen better camera work from the stands with a 10mm hand held on you tube.

2.) The only thing more embarrassing than Andre Ware in the booth was Andre Ware's pro football career where he was not only a major bust in the NFL but in the CFL as well. 83 passes and 5 touchdowns with Detroit, Andre was the 2nd QB's backup. I think that means he didn't even have a clipboard to hold.

Regarding the "piling it on comments" by Andre Ware, let me just make this rebuttal. Which game were you watching? What part about Tressel's expression did you not understand? Or are you as bad at reading facial expressions as you were at reading the Lions play book?

Don't answer that Andre - just stick to AM radio - much like the NFL/CFL it's clear to me that you aren't ready for the big time and at this rate, I'm sure you never will be.

HAHA very true he sounded so dumb i almost turned it off.. And tressels face when boom scored was pricless:oh:

Maybe I missed something, but is there a reason for Gibson not registering a stat against NW despite starting? Reading the Box Score at the Ozone, I realized I couldn't remember seeing Gibson make a single play.

JT said something in the presser about Thad being limited by an ankle injury. He said Nathan Williams was getting PT in Thad's place.

All I can say is wow,a bye week really made a difference. I am more excited about next weeks game against Illinois than any game this season. I can't wait for JT and the fellas to curb-stomp Illinois!(that was meant figuratively for those of you who are in the PC police):roll2:

Seriously, not only did your team put the same total points as tOSU did yesterday, Houston doubled it and then added 5. Andre you made yourself sound like a punk bitch.

Can we get this guys e-mail from ESPN or something?

Another display of disgust because we scored a touchdown. Wow. I don't even know what to say anymore. It's ridiculous.
I agree, it's QUITE ridiculous to make the leap you're making.

Absolutely nothing wrong with his reaction to unintentionally running up the score.

Tressel's motive behind the fake punt and all that seemed pretty obvious to me. It's a lot harder for alumni/fans to question your offensive coordinator after the team put up 45 points. Even though he still needs to be questioned..

I disagree.
I think Jim Tressel has shown many times that he doesn't care about the opinions of alumni or fans.
I think his motive behind the fake punt was to give Illinois, Michigan, and whoever the opponent is in a bowl game a little bit more game film to watch, and something else for them all to work in practice.

Reading this thread, it's sad that people are more worried about the announcers than the Buckeyes. Pryor looked great. Beanie looks strong. We played better on the line as the game went on. We played with little emotion until Beanie's run...then after that we played fired up Buckeye football on both sides of the ball. Lots of emotion on the field. Yet all some of you can talk about is how you hate the announcers??? Telling them to die, fuck off, or using discriminatory remarks. That's plain wrong. To talk that way about any other human being is wrong. Say you disagree, fine. But some of the things that are being said are horrible. Express yourself with some class. A bunch of you sound like you have very little of it. If you hate the announcers so much, turn the sound off and listen to The Ohio State University Football Network on the radio. But you probably listen to them, becuase you just like to complain and say "Fuck You!" to somebody you've never met and who is just doing his job. How dare he.

But anyway, about what really matters, great game!!! We stood tall on defense for sure. We played with a fire that I was worried we wouldn't see. But give it to Coach Tressel. The team may have started flat, but he's got this team wanting to win and play well, and play 100%. And they did! GO BUCKS!!! 14 days until The Game!!!

Go Iowa!

I have to spread rep around before I can send you more. But that isn't likely to happen soon. I'll likely forget by the time I hand out more rep. So I figured that rather than hand out worthless chicklets to people who probably don't deserve them until I can send you your own worthless chicklets, I'd just reply.

The main reason I checked out the thread that far back was to see what kind of reaction people had to Andre Ware. But I don't think I really care anymore. He's just a guy who says stuff. The game was a great win for the Buckeyes. Now rather than finding more stuff to whine about, I'm going to look forward to seeing what they can do in the next game.

I agree with Brutus. However, if this had happened all year and we played "balls out' against everyone then no problem with this at all. But to fake punt, then throw it long against a weaker already beaten team is, in essence, just running it up.

I have no problem with the attitude; play the game all out until there is 00:00 on the clock. But this is an attitude that should be consistent all the time against everyone.

And, don't grimmace or act surprised when a major college running back on a major college team with a major college line is blocking makes a good to great run and score.

Ok, straight up. tOSU has received the opening kick-off in every game this season.

Can we get a vbet on if, or when, they will kick-off to start a game? I have no idea if a team has every gone an entire season without kicking off to start the game, but with only two games left, this is becoming a real possibility.

Someone page BB73. :)

I was at the game, but this type of thing is one reason why I read the game threads afterwards. I'll set something up for the last 2 games.

Talk about an epic tendency to break vs Michigan! :p
