That's what I was getting at. Those two on the right had monster beards by kickoff. (if that's micknight)

and of course :sad2:

I'm going to sum this up quickly: The passion and talent met on Saturday. MSU was a good team and we flat out dominated them. The defense was in MSU's face. The DT's held their own in the interior and the DE's pressured the QB. The CB's were phenomenal as usual and Laurinaitis had an excellent game, as did Freeman. You could see how JL benefited so much from good DL play. The offense was firing on all cylinders and TP would likely have posted even more stats if we didn't get such a huge lead early on. He really made excellent decisions on Saturday and the TD to Robiskie was awesome. Great job guys and you made my weekend rather enjoyable.:oh:

2008 Michigan State Photo Gallery

I've got to attend to some other business matters for a few hours, but here's the first handful of pics. Many more to come later this evening.

Pics in the next post (so any quotes aren't a mile long :)).

1. I briefly considered quoting the post with the pics, just to be an asshole.

2. Great pics.

3. Did you happen to get any wide shots of the "green-out"?

4. There is no number 4.

5. It looked like Christmas in there.

6. Awesome.

I hate to disappoint you, but Lane is a fifth-year senior. His chances to start are over.

Coaching does matter, just not as much as talent matters. I'd say that talent on the field is probably 90% of the equation ... and because talent can be "coached up" during practice, then maybe the actual break-down is 70% talent, 30% coaching. Bottom line: In college football, the most important job for the coaches is to recruit the talent.

Bingo. The only real disappointment I had with the defense previously was the failure to recruit the interior DL we needed. The scheme with Heacock is fine but the DL just wasn't holding their end of the bargain. They are stepping it up now (thankfully) and hopefully they continue to produce. Nathan Williams has definetly been a shot in the arm for the defense. The secondary is completely lockdown and the LB's proved they are one of the best units in the country with some help up front (especially JL). And yes, Jenkins is our best player and I have said it all year.
