Game Thread Ohio State 33, Washington 14 (Final)

I wouldn't be too surprised if their 5th-year seniors remind the rest of the team of the 28-9 ass-whipping we gave them on opening day of 2003.
They also almost beat USC last year. I think OSU will take care of business, but they could certainly surprise everyone. Myself, I'd love to see Washington return to relevance for Ty's sake, as well as ending the 1-team "conference" out west.

Let's see.
September in Washington?
Game will be played at least in part, in the rain.
Frickin' wonderful! (sarcasm) :roll2:

It's a bit early for rain... which is not to say it can't happen, but the rain usually doesn't hit until November... and let us not forget the USC game at OSU a few years back that had to be shortened due to lightening.

Husky Stadium has to be the prettiest one in America. It sits right on the edge of a good sized lake. Many boaters tie up and "tail gate" on the water with an excellent view of Mt. Rainier in the background. At one point in time a Wash U. fullback held the single game rushing record for Ohio Stadium. I watched that one in amazement... something like my junior or senior year, so 65 or 66.

Mili, we have family in outer-Seattle area & have driven by UDub stadium many times. Attended a San Diego State game there a few years back. IMO, UW stadium doesn't compare to The Horseshoe, as it has modified open ends, and, at the time had rock-hard artificial turf. Fans were pretty mellow, but SDSt didn't give the locals much to worry about. Can't help much on local color or billets. Have a great trip to watch our Bucks win by 2tds.

Why? He's an awful excuse for a "coach".....and I use that term lightly.

He's a mid level type coach, he got in over his head at ND. I compare him to a John L. Smith type of coach (minus the erratic behavior). He'll coach a team that will sneak up on you, and beat a few teams they shouldn't, but then lose the games they should win. Prime example........they beat UCLA last season, that is enough for me to take notice. Ohio State is not going to be the powerhouse that we were last season in game 3 fellas, it's unrealistic to think that we will be so. Sure, they are breaking in a QB.......as are we. Don't underestimate the loss of Pitcock, Patterson, and Richardson on the D line.... Our team is going to have some growing pains at some point next season. I'm not looking at this as a downer, I'm just being objective, and trying to be realistic. Do I think we could win it all? Sure I do, but then again I think the odds of getting back to the title game next season are much less than they have been in the last 3 seasons.

In all reality I think that we'll beat the Huskies next season. But lets not lose sight that this will be a huge test to an offense with little leadership. If things get tough, you don't have a field general like Troy Smith to bail them out. I'll think that way until I see what the new guys have to offer. Don't discount how big this being a road game is. It's a perfect trap game, and it's the first road game of the season. They'll be geeked out of their brains to have the Buckeyes in town. Everyone wants a piece of what many consider one the top 3-4 programs in the country. We'll get their best shot.

We should win by 10-17.

Have a great trip to watch our Bucks win by 2tds.

If anyone thinks that I'm wrong with what I say (about not getting too cocky), perhaps they should take a look back at the Florida game in January and imagine that monster piece of humble pie that was delivered to us fans. I know that I learned from it, hopefully some of you will also do the same.......

I am planning to go to the game myself (went to OSU/UW game about 8?? years ago, old college roomate met me in Seattle and we had good time; DESPITE UW pulling some bullshit onside kick in first half that basically was the winning margin in that game :( ) Anyways being out of the loop here in Spokane, WA for quite a while (1987 The OSU grad ) now I am wondering how best to score tickets. This side of state is mainly Cougar fans so not many connections, would like to score 4 or so tickets so me and family can go...Any suggestions would be appreciated; have e-mailed OSU alumni guy in Seattle couple of times but no response from him.
