Game Thread Ohio State 30, Illinois 20 (Nov 15)

The refs didn't order Tress to keep the replay flag in his pocket, or tell the guys in the replay booth to go take a whiz. I'm sure Tress didn't think it was that important as to use up his challenge in the first quarter of the game. Bad rule (one challenge) trumps bad call by refs.

the problem was the play was not challengeable...........

the player was ruled down by the ref and if the player is ruled down by a ref you cant challenge that it was a fumble

This website might help too Public Transportation

The Illini Bus goes from Midway.
God dam it!! Every service that can get me there on time and not have to stay with anyone requires I use a credit card, any service that I don't need to pay credit card it won't get me there in time for the game. God dam it. I might have to look for a hotel in Urbana if this keeps up, unless I can find someone to head down there with. I have no one to stay with at Urbana, which is what really complicates things

If the problems is that you don't have a credit card, you could get a pre-paid VISA card in the amount you need and use that as a credit card.

Would like my parents find out if I did such a thing? Like would it show up somewhere

I've never used one, so I'm not sure on all of the details. If you search for "prepaid visa" there is plenty of info out there.

It appears that you can purchase a "VISA gift card" at banks, grocery stores, drug stores, etc. and these can be used like a credit card, but with virtually no strings attached.

Here is a link to all of the VISA prepaid options.

(The linked site would not work for me in Firefox, if that's what you are using.)

This is all true. I've gotten them as gift cards before.

If your parents finding out would be a problem, then maybe you should just listen to your parents. The reason I don't go to more games than I do is because I have family obligations. There was a time when the father of the family wasn't the only one who managed his behavior according to family obligations. Maybe the generations who behaved that way knew something we don't.

It's not that they got problems with me doing this, they'd just ask a lot of annoying questions about it.

ESPN - Morning Briefing: Iowa's Barta issues statement - Big Ten

...

The buzz for Ohio State-USC already has begun, but there's another marquee nonconference matchup involving a Big Ten team. The Illinois-Missouri game, once the opening act before the two schools' annual basketball clash, sold out Tuesday, soon after tickets went on sale. Illinois also sold out its home game against Ohio State within an hour, and the school is opening five extra rows of seats to accommodate fans for the Iowa and Indiana home games. Man, the Ron Turner era feels like a long time ago.

Not only was Ron Turner a shitty coach for the Illi-Suck, but he's a terrible offensive coordinator. Run, Run, Dump Pass short of the 1st down line, punt. He makes Marty Ball look like the spread offense. Why the Bears don't fire him is beyond me. When Griese lead that drive vs. the Eagles I knew something was up. Ron Turner does not have the intelligence to draw up such a drive. Why they made Griese backtrack on his statement that he called the plays, I will never know, it's obvious Griese called the plays on his own, Turner is not capable of calling such a drive.

And another idiotic thing he does, when a player is doing good, he pulls him for someone else saying that was our gameplan. Hello, did you ever hear of something called in-game adjustments? God Ron Turner pisses me off. /endrant
