Revenge for a 2007 home loss while ranked #1 should allow tOSU to get motivated for the Illini, even with The Game coming a week later.

Historically, Illinois has played OSU very tough throughout the recent years. For whatever reason, OSU has lost to these guys, when (mostly their LBs) come up big, and their offensive guys catch fire. Don't know why, but even last year, their QB, who had more Int's than TD's, lit up a pretty darn good backfield for 4 Td's. And made a pretty darn good defense look like a Junior High team. C'mon, Zook isn't that good an X and O er, that he could remember what happened 5-7 years ago and scheme out what he did........

Focus is what is needed and execution. Let Gibson 'spy' on Juice, and Freeman and Laurninitis will clean up on any run play. The Buckeyes should be overwhelming to the Illini, especially with them losing Mendenhall and J Leman, both of which were the heart and souls of the O and D.......45-14.

Tressel won't stand for it. Just because Illinois acted like punks doesn't mean we have to. We'll let our game shut their asses up...

I know; I myself wouldn't do it nor would I expect the team to stoop that low. But the thought of crushing them in their house makes one a little giddy. Especially with how much shit I've heard some Illni fans talk the last 5 months.

Big difference between simply crushing them in their own house and crushing them and then acting like punks afterwards. Just pound their asses and leave...

Our guys will have a pretty vivid memory of that game ending event. And since "most" of the 2007 team has returned, I pity the fools when they meet our 2008 team on their field this year.

I'm sure that as this game approaches some people will correctly observe that Illinois is lucky to once again meet us the week before The Game.

But IMHO, Illinois' game the week before this one is a classic trap game that will leave them emotionally exhausted.

Yes, they play a MAC team the week before hosting us.

But that MAC team, Western Michigan, is going to be very, very good by MAC standards next year. And there is absolutely no way that they will have Illinois' undivided attention. The Broncos (or whatever) are a classic trap game for Illinois.

I believe the Illini will win the game, but I think it will be MUCH closer than they want and that it will, as I said, leave them emotionally exhausted.

That, and the revenge factor, has me believing that we will utterly brutalize the Illini this year.

I have seen enough Buckeye seasons ruined with one bad call. It seems to happen every 10 years or so. A team will have their best game against us(nothing new here) and it will come down to a referee's call or no call. Just the way it is. But, still maddening. :(
