Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

As much as I would like to bash TB, I can't. Kid takes a licking and just keeps on going out there. We all can sit here and say this and that about why TP should be playing. Hell give TB some freaking time and maybe he wouldn't get rattled so badly and then end up looking like he is to blame. I feel bad for all the seniors that came back and had to go through this.

:oh:

Someone please shut up Kirk!!!!!!!!! I wish he would show some class and not trash and bad mouth his former school and conference with every breath that he takes!

I was thinking back to the home and home with Texas a couple of years back. That loss in game one was tough, but that game was close and we were in it all the way to the end. It was a great game on the National scale and we showed well. While we lost I was still confident in the team's ability.

After being at the game last Saturday, I felt this team was in trouble but not this badly. I saw the issues in the trenches, but dismissed them as not being up to play a MAC team. I saw our top receivers not be able to separate, but again dismissed them as not being up to play against a MAC team.

After watching this team of 20 returning starters/letterman take a serious trashing from a quality team, I am certain this is not the same scenario as we had with Texas a few years back.

It will be interesting to see what Tressel and the coaching staff can come up with for the rest of this season...

Couple of early end-of-game observations:

1. Mistakes and penalties hurt OSU early. That kills drives, erases supposed scores, and takes the wind out of momentum. Hard to recover from.

2. Don't know what was up with the O-line. Didn't matter if TB or TP was in, no protection makes it hard to do anything.

3. No big plays on the defense (except that one interception that stopped the bleeding for a while)

4. Pryor is good and going to get better. OSU will recover and win out the rest of the season.

5. :oh:

So what do people think about what Herbie is saying about TP? Will this game be like Iowa 2004, when the QB position changes hands, or is TB still going to be the QB?
Huge yet legit question. JT is fiercly loyal, maybe sometimes to a fault, but this has to be an eye opener. Right now, I'd expect to see Todd continue to start, but I expect to see Pryor phased in more and more.

As this game comes to a close, I'm just in shock. I knew USC was going to be tough, but I didn't think we'd make the mistakes that we did in the 1st half, especially with the Senior leadership that we have. I'm still going to hold my head high and I still have hope for our Buckeyes winning the Big Ten and making it to the Rose Bowl. I'm still going to look forward to attending a game this year and am still going to cheer for my Buckeyes every week.

To USC and their fans, congrats on the win and good luck for the remainder of the season....you guys are going to be tough to beat.

And for those of you who are jumping off 'the wagon', I wish you luck and if you try jumping back on the wagon when we're back on top, you're going to have my foot in your face kicking you right back off.

LETS GO BUCKS!!!!

JT has a big JOB ahead of him. The Srs. have spent a lot of their emotion on this game. Woody used to say it was impossible for a team to be at the absolute peak more than 3 or 4 times a year.If this team does come back and finish strong win the Big 10 it will be a great accomplishment. TOsu and USC deserve props for schedulimg this game, it would be easy to schedule another pay day and keep your record clean.

I love TB - he's living my dream, an Ohio boy starting at QB for the Buckeyes - but I think it needs to change hands. Pryor was the #1 QB recruit for a reason. He's a special talent, and right now we need to use it. There will be some growing pains with a true frosh but I think we'll be better off overall if we live with them. Todd will still be an important part of this club, but I think Pryor needs to be our starting QB going forward.

Whatever JT decides, I'll always be a Buckeye. :osu:

I am a fan...always have been and always will be. I will supprting them tommorow and the rest of the season. I am just disappointed becasue I know without a doubt we are wayyy better then this. I am confident we win the Big Ten and beat Michigan. We need to get that "spark" back. Just seems were don't have it right now.

Hats off the USC...they played a well executed game.

Head is a little down right now, but will be back up tommorow.

GO BUCKS!!!!!

I have to think we are going to see a Zwick/Smith scenario for the rest of the year. I feel for TB, he waited his turn. I just don't think that he gives the team the best chance to win on his own.
