Game Thread Ohio State 3, Southern Cal 35 (Sept. 13)

Just my feeling, but I think y'all will try to use that stable of running backs, and try to expose the middle of our D (like our 2 losses from this year). I have a feeling (or hoping) we are going to play a lot more aggressively and get away from our zone scheme. We'll put Jenkins at corner, as opposed to safety, and close down one half of the field. Were going to really need to D up on Davis, as I think he could be the difference in this game, much like LSU's TE was.

DT's should be alot better and btw.... Davis is gone.

I do look for USC to be pretty balanced on offense though. They have the talent at both reciever/running back thats for sure, but its a matter of will they improve from last year? They should, so I'd expect a lot of different looks from them. With Davis and 3/5th thier oline missing though we've got to get after the QB. If we sit back and play our zone stuff again this will give their offense the time, and confidence to move the ball on us. Remember this team will show no mercy and will BURY us if they have the opportunity...The biggest loss for them that I'm soooo happy about is them losing Ellis and their Defensive end! man those guys were good...

A question on Ray Mauluga (spelling) though? I know he hits extremely hard and he's good at blitzing but what are his weaknesses?

He's undisciplined and prone to overpursue.

You stupid fuck. Miami is the site of the next NC game. So, DBB was saying that we have to beat USC and the an SEC in the NC game (again, next NC game is in Miami) before the critics will shut the yaps.
What would you be called since you're too old to be an e-thug?

Got my tickets confirmed and will be in the stadium on Sept 13. Minister has season tickets and has me down (ministers cannot renege, it's in their contracts!). Go Bucks - I'll be the guy in scarlet and grey amidst the crimson and gold......

Don't want to go over what everyone has said, methomps has covered, and spring ball will tell the tale of which qb emerges. My money is on Mustain. Don't forget, their OL has about as much depth as rb did last year, they'll just insert 5*'s and go on. I worry more about Cushing than Maualauga, as he's a headier player. I'm looking forward to many more posts, and I'll bet it gets pretty close to Texas-OSU thread. Don't see the flamers for USC that were there for Texas, though.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this a preview of the NC game in Miami in 2009. Both teams are loaded, and both teams know that the winner has the inside track (barring some stupid loss during the season ala Stanford or Illinois) to the NC game.

Congrats on the tix. I agree that Cushing is the more impt. player, but I think Sanchez will win out. BTW, its Cardinal and Gold, not crimson.

Methomps, my bad. Crimson and gold is Free Shoes U. Cardinal and gold is for the University of Second Choice .......let the games begin! Hummmm, cardinal is Ohio's state bird......I've been to too many SC/OSU games, all the way back when the McKeever boys were stacking up our fullbacks like cordwood to let a little thing like color (of jerseys) influence a game. It'll be back to the old OSU-SC slobberknockers. I've gotta take our D over the SC revamped O (especially in the 3rd game), but I'm not sure our O can overcome SC's D, even revamped. Maybe Pryor comes in late in the second quarter to shuck and jive his way through the spread out offense to score the go-ahead TD on the way to a 28-24 OSU victory?

This is going to be an amazing game. can't wait. I think our offense will be fine. McKnight is a special player and Sanchez has some expereince having to play at Autzen last year and Notre Dame, but the biggest question mark will be on the offensive line where we lose some serious talent.

Pryor in a buckeye uniform terrifies me.....he looks so Vince Young like

Good, then he will be completely out of the play when the Bucks run a screen pass, or dump it off to the RB releasing out of the backfield.

No, wait, my bad. We don't run either one of those plays.

So, I wonder how much his tendency to overpursue will hurt him against the Buckeye offense???
