COLUMBUS They're coming to slay the giants, but Troy may not have to reach real high today at Ohio Stadium.
Troy, not to be mistaken for the Men of Troy in Southern Cal ? the No. 1 team in the country that dismissed Ohio State last week with barely a strain ? has played in big stadiums against bigger teams before.
Today's noon kickoff between the No. 13 Buckeyes (2-1) and Troy (2-0) won't be as much about who's not on the field for the Buckeyes as who is. Ohio State likely will start freshman Terrelle Pryor at quarterback over fifth-year senior Todd Boeckman. Pryor won't have the help of Chris "Beanie" Wells, who will sit out a third consecutive game.
The Trojans are 1-13 against nationally ranked teams since 2001, the win coming at Missouri in 2004. They opened the season beating Middle Tennessee, 31-17, and whipped Alcorn State, 65-0. Middle Tennessee last week came a half-yard shy of beating Kentucky.
