Game Thread Ohio State 23, Purdue 7 (final)

I'm not uneasy about this game. The Buckeyes have the talent and coaching to roll over anybody on their schedule this year - including the games in West Lafayette, Happy Valley and Ann Arbor. If the Buckeyes are motivated and are crisp in their execution, they win this one in a walk.

This is just an idle thought I had about this year. But what if JT is using this year as practice for next year and USC. I mean if he could somehow pursuade all the underclassmen to stay one more year what kind of a team could we have next year?
I think I would get a warm and fuzzy glow and have a smile like a pig in shit for a long time

JT doesn't use one year to prepare for another.
He does "prepare" for The Game. :biggrin:
Can you picture an offense of Beanie, InSaine, Small, Robo and Hartline on the field at one time against that scUM defense? :biggrin:

Yeah but what if he did? I mean, this year was supposed to be a "rebuilding" or gain experience year so why not use it to get everyone game experience for next year when we could make a big push for the NC.
I can Imagine it but why leave out Dane?

Nah , we will just run the shot GINN without a line or we can add, Washington, Dukes, Torrence and Torrence and Whaley.
or maybe on play 1 we run Robo, Saine, Dane and Washington, then on the next play we run Hartline, Small, Torrence and Torrence, .

We have quietly been running a fair amount of plays from shotgun, with empty sets or 1 back sets. Everyone in the world knows this is coming in The Game. Look for JT to gradually run it more and more.

You don't have to have a pure running QB to run the spread.
