I think it might have more of an effect than you think. The band starts a lot of the fan cheers and is constantly playing, after every "good" play. It could get in the head of a young team playing a big road game.

Headin out to meet some friends to watch the game, a few final thoughts. This will be the halfway point of the season, and the team needs to cement its identity ASAP. With Pryor and Beanie playing together, the Buckeyes will have an offensive advantage in every game, but that is not enough. What this team most needs is for both lines to step up and start playing like champions. Both units have been up and down so far. This is the game where they need to dig deep and play up to their potential, ability, preparation, and the opponent. Wisky always has a stable of corn-fed linemen. I think the team can win even if the D-line loses its part of the battle. UW's offense is as explosive as mud, and we can counter their long drives with quick strikes. OSU can even win if the O-line doesn't play well, given Pryor's abilities. But, in order to win convincingly and build momentum to make a statement through the second half of the season, the line play has to reach a level that it has not thus far. I believe they are capable of it, it is well past time that they started showing it.

The big topic this week has been how Pryor will handle the pressure in a hostile environment. From what I've seen of his demeanor, I think this kind of situation is what drives him to take his game to the next level. He has been in constant pressure environments throughout the last two years of his athletic career. State championships in football and basketball, and then becoming the BMOC in C-Bus. He has shined in every test he has faced so far, and I have a gut feeling that this game could be his moment to break into the upper echelon of college sports. My only fear is that his emotions might boil over, but with the amount of support he has around him, he should be fine. It's gut check time for Terrelle and the Buckeyes. A strong win tonight, and they can start clawing their way back to the top of the rankings.

I know this is a bit childish, but I just played NCAA 09 OSU vs UW.. Not realistic at all, but worth a look at. It is on the hardest set level.

OSU 52 UW 10

Pryor 17/21 187yards 1td 1int rushed it 7 times for 67 yards and 1 td
Beanie 25 carries for 208 and 4tds
Robiskie 5 recepetions 54 yards and 1 td
Coleman with 5 tackles and 2 int 1 returned for a td
Russle 9 tackles with 1 int

PJ Hill 17 carries for 91 yards and 1 td

Again not realistic at all just alot of fun.

Just watching the earlier Big-10 games today, you can tell ESPiN is really hoping someone dethrones us. Anytime the Big-10 standings were brought up, the announcers pretty much glossed over us and mentioned PSU as the clear frontrunner and a couple darkhorses.

I was really trying to convince myself that our defense was going to be dominate tonight because Wisc plays a more traditional running style offense and that plays to our strengths. And the more I thought about USC and some of our other poor defensive games I realized I was trying to convince myself of a lie. It doesnt matter what type of offense we face, it only matters if our D-line comes to play or they get manhandled like they did at USC. I have a feeling our O is going to put up some points tonight(Beanie+TP2 is just too hard to defend). This game comes down to our D-line and due to previous performance's we may see a shoot out.

OH YEAH. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!

Yeah I know, and the funny thing is I am much more worried about this game than I am PSU. If we win this one, than imo we win the Big 10. Penn St. in Columbus should be a victory, and it should really sadden Mark May as a bonus.

The good news about tonight is that the Badgers really do not match up well with our defense. We will struggle all year (again imo) with teams who can throw the ball, and create match up problems in space. However, Wisconsin can not do that, and rely on a traditionally strong running game. I like our chances against that type of style, and honestly think 17 points can win this one. As somebody else said though, I really hope we finally put it all together and run away with this one.
