OHIO STATE ANNOUNCES ATTENDANCE OF 76,540 AGAINST TULSA, LOWEST SINCE 1971

This marks the lowest attendance in Ohio Stadium since Sept. 11, 1971, when the Buckeyes beat Iowa 52–21 in the season opener in front of 75,596 fans. This obviously excludes the 2020 season, when tickets were not sold to the general public and Ohio State played in a mostly empty stadium.

After several questions regarding the turf (firmness, players slipping, etc...) during Coach Days noon presser, a spokesman for the AD said the turf is already scheduled to be replaced next year. The current surface was installed in 2014 and has a life expectancy of about 8 years.
