Ohio Stadium aka THE Horseshoe (Official Thread)

Nice find... When they had these on INHD (now Mojo) I never was able to catch the one on Ohio Stadium... everytime I would tune in, and the info said it was going to be the Shoe, they mislabeled it and it would be Oregon or Auburn.

I was trying to find a place to watch the HBO special on the Rivalry, and that popped up.

Man, watching the '06 OSU UM game on ESPN classic on Friday (or Saturday, I can't remember which) I miss the old endzones with the grass background and the gray letters. Not saying I don't like the new one, because I do, I just miss the old one.

30,000 students in the closed end of the 'Shoe would be insane.

I sat there for the Michigan game. Froze my ass off, had to stand up a good deal, but it was good to spend some time surrounded by students and to catch their enthusiasm. Just the same I won't sit there again if I can help it.

Awesome! Thanks for posting that.

P.S.

During the opening minute (at the 49 - 51 second mark) I'm pretty sure the camera zooms in thru 20C Portal and that's me standing against the left wall! Weird...who knew.

Talking about dotting the i in that film reminds me of what I think is my favorite OSU memory.

My freshman year (06) in the week before the Michigan game (yes, that Michigan game) I was walking back from class to Morrill Tower. It was a rainy, deary day, and I was just trying to get back to my room as fast as I could. As I was walking by the RPAC fields however, I stopped and noticed the suzaphonist who would be dotting the i at the game out on the field in sweats just practicing the dotting -- crappy weather, no one else around to see it besides whoever happened to be walking by, and no one else out on the field. It honestly gives me chills to think about. It might sound strange, but it is a moment that I will always remember and is one of my fondest memories of Ohio State so far.
