  • I know it is a little early for festival season, but it is such a beautiful day here in NC that it got me to thinking about some of the festivals I used to attend when I was a younger lad in Ohio. One of my favorites was the Bratwurst festival in Bucyrus. We would load up on some good food and then hit the Mad Bull (is it even still there? I am dating myself) for some partying and action. Plymouth used to have a good Ox Festival that we would play in the Mud Volleyball tournament. Anyone know if these festivals are still going? What is your favorite festival out there?

My mom grew up in Bucyrus and she's mentioned the Bratwurst festivel before, I'm pretty sure it's still going but I've never been there myself. Waynesville has the Sauerkraut Festivel each year, that was pretty fun although I only walked around for an hour. I never went to any festivels growing up other than the Balloon Fest in Ashland, used to love going to the Ashland County Fair in the fall.

Bratwurst is still going although they are worried about not having enough funding and trying to find private funds for it. Renoldsburg has the Tomato Festival and of course one of the most famous ones is the Pumpkin Festival in Circleville.
