Murphin ridge. Check it out. I like it a little more than the state park lodges. Nothing wrong with them though.

Is there any lodging on the lake? Or is it nearby and then you drive/walk there?Lake Hope, although nt as nice as some of the others was always a favorite for my family. A little further out, you could lookup "Cass scenic railway" and take the ole lady on a choo choo ride
So we need to find a new place to get together with 5 family members (3 beds, 2 bath) and we need it for this Fri nite - Mon am. We are switching because we need to be able to cancel last minute if circumstances cancel the trip for some members.
Anyone have any experience staying in one of these types of high rise condos? We're eyeing this one in the absurdly named Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH area.

Geneva on the Lake is beautiful, despite the stupid ass name. Never stayed overnight though
Blah blah blah put in bay. While Buckeneye isn't far off in his description he may be a little harsh due to some of the recent work done down there in the last few years which appears to be cleaning up the place a bit. The Lodge before the strip is really nice and they have just added small lake front efficiency condos that from the outside appear nice. Adventure Zone is at least clean and offers some fun for kids. Yes there are dive bars along the strip but dive bars aren't necessarily a bad thing if you're into that sort of stuff. Eddie's Grille is probably my favorite thing at the strip though - 50's style outdoor/indoor burger and dog joint. Capo's has really good pizza as well.

Don't get me wrong, there is some fun to be had. Putt-Putt, faire food.. Eddie's, strawberry lemonade, gryo's, There's an Italian pasta place down there, TINY operation that is supposedly just incredible. I haven't been down to the strip since summer of 3 years ago. If you want better pizza than Capo's, just follow Lake down into the Ashtabula Harbor and go to Bridge Street/Purola brothers. Probably one of the best slices in Ohio.
I haven't been down to the harbor since they renovated the loft bridge area but my family has nice things to say about it. I'm from Geneva originally but a lot of my family is from the Harbor and Ashtabula area. I live in Mentor/Grand River area now so not far just don't head out there much anymore for anything other than family.
Not sure what you're talking about or if you've been there, but GoTL is a hole that's a stretch of faire food, a putt-putt course and some [Mark May]ty dive bars. They have firehouse, a small brew co. and a nice hotel that's on the
bend before the strip itself. That's about it. Nothing impressive. Although sunset along the lake is very nice, that might be the only redeeming quality. The bulk of the populace leaves something to be desired.
If your goal is to go get plastered and listen to live bands cover the type of music for people having their mid-life crisis, be my fucking guest.
That being said, @jwinslow. I'm from the area (originally) and if you make it out for a weekend, let me know. I'll swing out that way and by you a beer.
