Who cares...it's a mascot.

I'm disappointed in Brutus...he should have started to beat the shit out of the guy. It's obvious that whoever was Brutus was much stronger than that other guy that day. Brutus looked a little tentative to fight back, which I get because he was being "respectful" or the "bigger guy" or whatever. But screw that. If a guy jumps you, whether he is in a costume or not, that gives you the right to beat the shit out of him. I would have loved to see Brutus just pick him up, slam him to the ground, and just start giving him kidney punches.

People who get their panties in a twist about stuff like this are pansies. I like stuff like this. Football isn't a polite sport, so no need to act like it is with mascots and etc. One other thing that everyone gets upset about that I think should happen more often is planting the flag. I think we need to bring it back. Make it a Big Ten thing. If you win a road game in the Big Ten, the whole team goes and gets that damn flag and plants it right there in the middle of the field.

Maybe we can turn it into planting the mascot. Brutus can just go pick him up after we win, carry him out to midfield, and just body slam him.

Eh...I could care less. I heard somewhere he didn't even go to Ohio anymore, which makes me wonder how he was the mascot still. I think he should be banned because his head came off...that's a no-no. But had his head stayed on, then i'm all for it. Violence is always the answer.

The guy does sound like a putz, that's for sure. Goes straight to my theory that a lot of MAC people don't root for their own schools so hard as they root against Ohio State. I mean, seriously... who decides "I'm going to tackle Brutus" You're a mascot. Chill the fuck out.

Can you imagine a guy who plays Brutus getting the idea to go tackle their fucking mascot? "Oh, this'll show em!" Seriously?

Actually...didn't you know that this is why Michigan doesn't have a mascot. They used to, but Brutus beat the shit out him in 1965 and since then Michigan has been without a mascot.

Saw on Twitter (I know, not allowed here) that some of players were clowning Brutus for not fighting back and letting himself get beat up. I, too, wondered why he didn't just kick the Bobcat's ass, but he has a reason...

I figured someone would mention this, and yes it was me that was Brutus during this. I'm only going to comment on this once so here's the story.

Basically myself and another cheerleader were running the flag like any other game leading the team out onto the field. All of a sudden I see the bobcat running at me. Obviously at first I was very confused and then realized that he was going to try and tackle me. As he went to tackle me, I lowered my shoulder and sent him to the ground and his head popped off (the pinnacle of mascot embarrassment). I then figured that was over with so I started to walk towards the endzone and was firing up the crowd. All of a sudden I feel someone jump on my back....it was the bobcat. He starts legit punching me so I jump and fall back on my back so that I land on him. He keeps punching so I throw him off of me and walk away.

It wasn't planned and he almost got thrown out of the game. A lot of people asked why I didn't wail on him and my response is not only did I not want that to be my last game (Big 10 has VERY strict rules in regards to mascot fights) but I didn't want the bobcat and OU to make headlines off of Brutus' name and fame. After the first two OSU touchdowns I decided to exact my revenge with a little more class by waving the flag directly in his face and repeatedly pointing to the scoreboard.....and that's all I have to say about that.
