That's one of those things that has changed. Watch TV shows or movies set in the 60's. Or even Scrooged with Bill Murray from the late 80's. He had a bar in his office.
Probably a big difference from the head boss nerd and any of his underlings.

State laws on indoor smoking have killed off the cigars, but we still have a liquor cabinet.

Having had an office at Ohio U, if having a bottle of booze in it would have been a problem, I would have been in trouble. I’m certain that at least 5-10% of the grad students had a bottle in their desk. I sure as shit did.
