The Buckeyes are 6-0 alltime against Ohio, but have only faced them twice in the last 100 years. The 26-14 win in 2008 was a struggle.

Despite attempts to counter an image that Ohio University officials hate, a new ranking puts OU as the country's No. 2 party school.
The Athens campus had been No. 5 in the past two rankings from Princeton Review, a test-preparation company that is not affiliated with Princeton University. The University of Georgia took the top spot this year.

Ohio played and lost to Marshal in the $9.95 Pizza Bowl last year. Game was competitive throughout. So both teams were Bowl teams last year. Both teams will bring back their starting QBs. Remember Boo Jackson?

Actually Boo Jackson was hurt all of last year, so Theo Scott was our starting QB last year (you might also remember him too )

In addition we have an Iowa St transfer Philip Bates that is challenging for playing time. Last I read, the starting QB has not been named yet. The assumption is Jackson will start and Bates will be used (Solich for some reason has liked using a two QB system for some strange reason)

The good thing is both QBs have starting experience.

Hard game to predict. FredOU has a decent team coming back, and so much of Ohio State's performance could hinge on the emotions coming out of the prior week. Throw in JT's stubborn refusal to grind his boot into the throats of the in-state schools, and I wouldn't put real money on this in a million years.

While I'm hoping for a UT like plunger raping, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those in-state games where Fredo hangs around late into the third quarter before finally taking his boat ride.

I don't quite agree with his having a "stubborn refusal to grind his boot into the throats of the in-state schools". He's recently pummeled in-state schools, including his previous team:

Youngstown State 38-3 (2007)
Kent State 48-3 (2007)
Youngstown State 43-0 (2008)
Toledo 38-0 (2009)

The two recent games against in-state teams that weren't blowouts, were due more to the team just not showing up:

Akron 20-2 (2007)
Ohio 26-14 (2008)

We're ranked #2 and are favorites to make it to the title game...Tressel won't allow some piss-any mid-major team--in-state or not--to jeopardize that.

I can't believe I am agreeing with ORD

But the emotions after the Miami game will be huge.

But this isn't your normal crappy MAC team (that would be Eastern Michigan). Since Solich has taken over Ohio they ahve been able to play the big team on their schedule VERY well. But they all conclude the same, play tough over the first 2-3 quarters, then sometime in the 3rd quarter Ohio loses steam. Tennessee last year was close til a 4th quarter INT and then Tennessee scores a few TDs and wins easily. 2008 OSU game you all know too well, then we had a series with Va Tech before that had the same pattern, close in the 3rd quarter and then the difference in talent ends in an avalanche.

Another point will be the fact that these teams just played 2 years ago and alot of the major players on both teams are still involved. So the Ohio players feel they should have won in 2008 and will believe they should be able to win on Sept 18th, and I am sure Tressel won't have to remind Pryor and company that Ohio had them on the ropes and should have beat them so they won't lack focus leading up to the game.

Since I am a lil biased I see Ohio State blowing out Marshall & Eastern Michigan, but that annual stinker against a lesser opponent will be this game.
