Game Thread Ohio at #1 tOSU, Sat. Sept. 13th, 7 ET on Peacock

Grew up in Columbus and got my undergrad at OSU - but my grad degree at OU, and I worked there for a while. Was in Athens in 2010 when Rufus went rogue at the OSU game. I laughed so hard at that kid's interviews in the local press. He did achieve his heart's (strangely long-held and specific) desire that day. The whole thing was a lot of fun for me - as a known Buckeye fan, I had a lot of good-natured laughs with my Bobcat colleagues, after the fact.

I predict no mascot-on-mascot violence this time, and 42-14, Buckeyes.

Top-Ranked Ohio State Opens As A 34.5-Point Favorite Over Ohio University Ahead of Saturday Night's Matchup in Ohio Stadium

Fresh off a 70-0 thrashing of Grambling State moving it to 2-0, Ryan Day's program gets back at it next Saturday night when they take on Ohio University at 7 p.m. in Ohio Stadium.

The Bobcats, fresh off a 17-10 home win over West Virginia in which they outgained the Mountaineers 429-250 and limited WVU to 72 rushing yards on 2.6 per attempt improved to 1-1 on the season.

Oddsmakers of course still see the Buckeyes as having a significant advantage, with DraftKings installing Ohio State as 34.5-point favorites in their opening line released today.

The Buckeyes are 2-0 against the spread so far this season, beating Texas as a 1-point favorite in Week One (OSU was a 'dog on some betting sites) and easily covering as 55.5-point favorites yesterday against Grambling State in what was the biggest spread in Ohio State history.

35 point favorite geez that’s high lol.

I’m confident in our offense to dice them up but another good test for the defense. Especially for the Washington game because OU has a dual threat guy.

Really want to see the DL play well this game.

Thought this earlier - might have some contain going if he’s a dual threat guy but absolutely want to see us get home at least a few times.

SIAP but Peacock has a Veterans monthly rate of $3.99.

Recently went back to Spectrum for TV ( already had internet ) and the package I have includes Peacock, HBO MAX. Hulu, Paramount+, Disney Plus, ESPN Ultimate and several others at no extra cost. With the Internet/TV bundle price I get I'm paying far less than I was for just internet and YouTube TV. Price ( a little over $120/mo) is locked for 2 years. Couldn't pass up that deal.

Will I find that deal online or do I have to call customer service or what not?

I called, you can usually get their sales people to give a better deal than what you see online. I have the TV Select Plus plan and the 500 mb internet. ( more than enough for most people) I use their modem and router and since all my TVs are smart tvs I don't have any equipment and just use their streaming app. Total bill comes to $124/month

Great thoughts. If we get another 70 like that we hung on Grambling, this will be a good thing. Don't know the exact numbers, but appeared that tOSU had fifth or sixth teams in there for meaningful snaps. Wish Tavien would have been greenlighted to throw the ball, rather than stand like a statue and hand off the ball. Only saw one Armstrong brother play, kinda my benchmark, and pretty much all the RBs got in. Also the TEs as a group had what, 5 TDs? Powerful message to the 'bigger' names the Buckeyes will play.

Remembering the mascot fiasco the last time Ohio State hosted Ohio

Both the Buckeyes and the Bobcats are hoping to avoid the same kind of nonsense that happened the last time these two teams met.

The Ohio State football program likes to pay to bring in other teams from the state of Ohio for a non-conference showdown. They like keeping those programs afloat by handing them some cash to help with their athletic departments. That's what they are doing with Ohio this weekend.

After destroying Grambling State last weekend 70-0, the Ohio State Buckeyes will welcome the Bobcats of Ohio to the Shoe. This is the first time that Ohio has visited the Shoe since 2010. The Buckeyes took down the Bobcats 43-7 in a game that was never close.

While it was a big win for Ohio State early in the season, that's not what that game was remembered for. In fact, it's remembered most today for something that didn't have anything to do with football. It's remembered for Ohio's mascot terrorizing Brutus prior to the game.

The Ohio State football program is hoping to avoid another mascot snafu vs. Ohio

Before the game started, Rufus the Bobcat decided to attack Brutus for no reason. He decided to try to fight him as the team came onto the field, and shortly thereafter, as well. You can see below just how unhinged the student is who is wearing the Rufus costume.

Ohio State hosts Ohio University on Saturday.

The last time these 2 played in 2010, Rufus the Bobcat brought the ruckus to Brutus the Buckeye.

Just sayin': Do you think Brutus wants revenge?
