This isn't very encouraging, dropped balls, missed sacks, no blocking etc.
But Ohio came to play, credit to them.
I'm not worried, I say we win by three touchdowns still.
This kind of reminds me of the '06 Cincinnati game.

So, I missed the first half(damn alarm didn't wake me). I'm not completely shocked by the offense but what the hell is up with our D? 120+ yards in the 1st half to a one-dimensional Ohio team? Piney must be psyched.

Heading to the locker room:
- O-Line needs to get off their stance and hold these guys better. They started to come together nicely towards the end of the second half.
- QB play is solid. Boeckman is making smart throws, not forcing it in. He may not have any TD's, but most important - he has 0 Int's.
- RB's are giving it all they got. We can't blame them for not getting yards if they are being stopped in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage. But solid effort by all 3 so far.
- WR's need to get open and hang on the balls coming their way. Their job is 2 things - get free and catch the ball.
- D-Line is getting the pressure on the QB to scramble away, but after that he seemingly ends up making a play out of it. Which brings me to:
- LB's. Where is Lil Animal and Freeman at? I haven't heard much of their names today. Once the Line puts that pressure on Boo, they need to step up and crack his ass.
- DB's. Okay fellas, you are holding it down decently. I know we have some players out with injuries and suspensions, but you are stillan Ohio State DB, that must mean you know how to play this position very very well.
Positives: Picks were awesome to see, Special teams (returns excluded) have been solid, QB decisions are smart and how clutch has Small been these past two weeks when weve needed him. We are doing well, but we can be doing better. Things will change come second half, keep your heads up! because we are THE Ohio State University.
I could care less what the damn "experts" think. In 2002 we squeeked games out all season long and despite the ESPN talking heads, we were crowned champs that season.

initial thoughts here and i'm STEAMED so if I offend anyone sorry...
We're playing very slow, the line is horrible, we aren't tackling.
First off I hate to say it but we are lacking explosive players on offense. Yes I know we could be looking ahead, yes beanie is out but Listen to Speilman he knows what he's talking about down there. This is the 2nd week in a row were our Wr's are having bigtime trouble seperating from the DB's. Todd has had decent time to throw the ball and everything that he's been pressured to do has been because of coverage. Robo, and Hartline need to step up and lead this WR core because this will not do the job all year let alone next week against the most physical and aggressive team we will have seen.
You know I was offended when I listened to the conference call Frank Solich did this week when he didn't admitt but he didn't deny that the Buckeyes weren't as fast as they have been in the past. However, now i'm beginning to wonder if he's onto something here?? The buckeyes will win this game but it will because of our defense. Again the Wr's are pathetic right now, and we have zero big play threat out on the field. Not from Robo, Boeckman, Herron, Saine, Wells, HARTLINE, Posey, Small, and Sanzo. STEP UP dammit and win this damn ball game.
On a positive note I think you don't change a thing we're doing on defense besides tackling better. Wilson/Gibson are causing havoc back there but we are not finishing plays, but I have a feeling the defense will set up another score.

This game reminds me of the 2006 first half vs Cincy. O-line just wasn't in it emotionally. Finally Pitt got hyped up and it was good night. Who is going to spark the boys in this game?

the OU secondary is playing very well, and they deserve credit for what they're doing. the OU o-line is getting away with some serious holding, but honestly that shouldn't really matter against us. i don't think OU gets anything more than possibly another TD this game, but who knows, really.
i think if our offense had any kind of consistency at all this would be a totally different game. but as it is, we're struggling to even get out of third and long. that's a concern.

This sucks.
Not that I am worried about the Buckeyes pulling this out, but I live in Texas as the name implies and I am at my inlaws where my mother-in-law is making stupid comments like, well every team needs to lose, or well at least one team named Ohio is winning. UGGH she drives me insane sometimes.
