He’s only entering his sophomore season, but in-state tight end D’Angelo White was one of the more physically imposing tight ends who camped at Ohio State last month.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Villa Angela-St. Joseph standout picked up an Ohio State offer from Ryan Day and Keenan Bailey on June 11 following an impressive performance in individual drills and one-on-ones in camp that day. White grew up an Ohio State fan and said one of his first and best memories of watching the Buckeyes came during their national title run in the 2014 season. Picking up an offer from his hometown team meant a lot to the 2027 prospect.
“It felt good because it’s a school I’d potentially like to go to for college and I’ve got a couple of guys that I know who go there,” White told Eleven Warriors following his offer. “They told me I’m disciplined, I know how to move and block and I’m very comfortable out there.”
White is the high school teammate of four-star 2025 Ohio State running back commit Bo Jackson and says the pair talk nearly every day about what it’s like to be recruited by the Buckeyes. He added he hasn’t ruled out eventually teaming up with Jackson in college.
“It’s very exciting Bo (will play at Ohio State) because he’s a cool dude, a coachable kid and stays out of trouble,” White said.
White has picked up 11 Division I offers, a list that includes the likes of Michigan, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Purdue and West Virginia.
“My best attributes are catching the ball and blocking,” White said of his on-field game. “I’m good at blocking but I could work on some more things to get better at blocking in the run game. (Coach Bailey) said the things we worked on here, go do them on your own time so you can improve on them when you come back next time.”
It’s unclear if White will return to campus for a game this fall, but he says he at least envisions attending the Ohio State spring game next year. White said while there’s still a long time left to go in his recruitment, he’d consider Ohio State his leader at the moment.

A top in-state target for Ohio State in the 2027 class enjoyed his gameday visit to Ohio Stadium last weekend for the Buckeyes’ season opener against Akron.
Ohio 2027 tight end D’Angelo White made the trek to OSU alongside high school teammate and Ohio State commit Bo Jackson and was impressed by what he saw from the Buckeyes in the team’s 52-6 win.
“My Ohio State visit was very good and my main takeaways from the trip were mostly about the tight ends,” White told Eleven Warriors. “The game day atmosphere was beautiful at the Buckeyes’ stadium. I think the tight ends did good, but they have to set the tone first play.”
White spent some time with Ohio State tight ends coach Keenan Bailey and several other staffers and said he hopes to get back to OSU at some point this fall.
“My favorite part about the trip was spending time with coaches and just being in the Buckeyes’ territory,” White said. “I don’t have any further visits planned but I would love to be back on campus soon. The most appealing thing about potentially playing for Ohio State is just being a Buckeye and being in good hands in a great culture.”
