In the NIL era, I think it's better to spend the money on a 5th-year rental than a freshman unless they are a sure thing. i.e. I think Bo will be a better RB, but Ja'Kobi is a grown-ass man compared to the other RB's on the roster. If we keep the rest of the RB room, I think we'll be fine next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in a high-floor player like Ja'Kobi every year as insurance.

With no tranfers the RB room:
Bo Jackson- Junior
Isiaih West- Junior
Legend Bey- Soph
Favour Akih- Soph

Hall wasn't going to see the field in this room next year. And bringing in a transfer every year would make it that much harder since he doesn't have a unique skill set different than Akih or even Jackson. Roberts would've made more sense, but he wasn't worth what UNC was willing to offer. Hall could be in the 2 deep by his 2nd year

This season better tell the OSU collectives that the Portal is every bit as important as HS recruiting. According to 1 of the OSU podcasts, Pantoni is already sending out feelers for possible transfers. No one waits until the Portal officially opens, and the NCAA isn't punishing for tampering.
