2025 OH QB Ryan Montgomery (Georgia Verbal)

https://n.rivals.com/news/recruiting-rumor-mill-frenzy-of-activity-surrounding-spring-games

Ryan Montgomery:

Georgia is the front-runner for the 2025 four-star quarterback from Findlay, Ohio as the word is Montgomery “loved it down there” in Athens.

This one could get especially interesting since Montgomery’s brother, Luke, signed with Ohio State last recruiting cycle and playing together could become more significant as the 2025 QB gets closer to a decision but the Bulldogs are now the team to watch.

Early on the assumption was that Montgomery would be a Buckeye easily due to his brother, and distance. But it's becoming more clear that Day and OSU wants to see more from St. Clair, and there is SERIOUS interest between both sides on Underwood from MI who's the #1 QB. As the days go by its becoming more realistic that Ryan won't be in OSU's class. Still a lot of time, but that time is working in St. Clair and Underwood's favor

If we land Underwood, I am pretty sure we are not going to lament Ryan not being in this class. Either way, QB is one of the last positions I ever worry about with this staff. We always get a good one.

I think that is one very realistic scenario. But I also think Day really wants to give St. Clair a chance to prove himself. And another option that will be heavily considered is Kitna’s kid moving to OH. He’s every bit the athlete of QBs like Devin Brown and Kienholz. Depending on whomever gets the offer first, they will be strong options

Saw on the BM5 podcast, Mark Porter mentioning that Montgomery has the same trainers as Drew Allar and the Grunkmeyer QB from Olentangy in 2024. And the trainer is a Ped St fan... So it's safe to say that Ped St will be in the hunt until the end

The quarterback most wanted to learn more of was
Ryan Montgomery
. Many have been curious about how the Ohio State legacy would approach the decision-making process with the Buckeyes recently taking another QB commitment in 2025. He said not only is Ryan Day’s program still in it, but he’s considering them despite their current pledge. The two-QB class conversation also came up at Florida when they had
Austin Simmons
committed, but he flipped to Ole Miss earlier this month. The Gators, Miami, Georgia and Michigan appear as the top contenders outside of Ohio State to date. Montgomery says he won’t make the next step in his recruitment until the season begins, however.

Not sure how serious he is about being QB #2 at OSU. Because he's near the top of the board for all the schools mentioned. I know for a fact that Miami has him #1 overall on their board for example. And I'm sure he's close to the top for UGA and UF as well.

Will be an interesting one to watch - he's stated he'd like to be the only QB in the class, but obviously that is now not possible. Ultimately he said he will choose where he's most comfortable, which you have to imagine is OSU.

Comfort vs. Sole QB commit -----> TBD

Nope. He went from front runner at tOSU, to being a 'second'. Believe it was Milton that said, 'Tis better to be #1 in hell, rather than #2 in heaven". apparently Ryan is taking that literally....Lots of time between now and then....

Ryan Montgomery and his team lost 47-14 last night.
Toledo Central Catholic Is a very tough team, and even tougher to face as game 1.
Findlay is ranked the #155 team in Ohio while TCC is ranked as the #4
