Very early but Chad Simmons has Ohio State as the leader for Maxwell Riley after his visit this weekend.

Clemson has not offered yet but the Tigers are definitely one of the early favorites for the 2026 offensive tackle from Avon Lake, Ohio. Ohio State might be very tough to beat in the end and Florida State is on the early list of top programs, too, but Clemson should be watched as he continues to develop strong relationships with the coaching staff there.

Not counting the kicker, 3 of the 13 players are from Ohio. Georgia, NC, and Cali have 2 each.
That’s a trend I like.

There has been lots of chatter that Ohio State is absolutely the team to beat for the high four-star in the 2026 class from Avon Lake, Ohio so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Buckeyes landed him at some point. Clemson and Florida State are the two others that have really made the biggest impression on Riley and right now his only trip is to Clemson on March 9 and that could be telling as to where his recruitment is headed.

Clemson and Florida State are two that have made a big impact in Riley’s recruitment but it would be an absolute stunner if Ohio State doesn’t land him at some point. The Avon Lake, Ohio, standout has talked highly of the Buckeyes, and if he leaves the state, especially for either the Tigers or Seminoles, that would be a major surprise.
