I wonder how much Frye leaving will effect their decisions. An Avon guy down to OSU and Clemson? I gotta like our odds.

Don't disagree at all but...Guthrie and Greer are sure fire T-A-C-K-L-E-S imo. We have to land them first and that is not a given, but the effort is there on that front. Plus we are going full boar on getting Cantwell, which is far from a given but we are putting in the work.

Gotta guess that it'll come down to who the next OL coach becomes, and NIL coin. Depth has taken a jolt what with the next tier folk departing for greener pastures, for which cannot blame them. The 3 & 4 year players fled, leaving some sophomores and freshmen. And for all the talk about measurables and the 'look test', obviously things are lacking that need to be instilled with each and every one. Most of the hotshot OL coaches appear to be imbedded with their top tier teams, and if tOSU starts sniffing around them, then that team will 'find' some more money to try and keep them. One good thing, is that with the Nati win, Day (or so it seems), untouchable (at least for now), and willing to stay with the Buckeyes. Or at least he says the right things, (as in) he wants to break Woody's Nati record....Anyway, Go Bucks.

The timing of the Frye departure allowed Clemson to slide ahead. But they’ve always been in his top 2, and he’s said as much from the beginning. And like Guthrie, let Bowen get his sea legs
Also to add, Bowen is not from OH, and hasn't coached in the Midwest, he has no relationships with these players or schools. Va Tech sent out A LOT of offers(40 to be exact to OSU's 25), but many on the east coast. I can see offers go out to much more DMV and NC OL, but just more in general that Frye wasn't even scouting

Heard chef! Well, Bowen's got Pantoni there with files on all of these OL, so he can start using his recruiting chops to woo these guys. Would imagine that he got his sheaf of plane tickets to the locations of these OL candidates. Wonder if Day gave him the ultimatum, "bring back your shield (commits), or be carried upon it".
