No surprise. GCL kid to ND is pretty much a lay up

Funny story is I've known this kid when he was little(my wife was friends with his mom). My wife mentioned her the other day and asked if I remembered little Kobe. She said that he was football player for St. X now, and I had to a double take and ask if his name was Jakobe. She said yes, and gave me a weird look. I told her the kid was really freaking good. The mom is a bartender, and my wife said she wanted to start a GoFundme so she had help when they travel to colleges. As you can see my wife is not as well versed in CFB recruiting, so I had to break NIL down to her, and that all of his visits they were in fact being paid. And wherever he signed, he would be making more money than his family had ever seen. Its funny seeing people who still don't realize how much money is being paid in CFB

Not everyone is being paid to take visits.

I agree fully. But since it was in Klapper thread, I was referring solely to him. But yes, every recruit isnt getting paid to take visits

I mean…needing a gofundme “the other day” would indicate he’s one that isn’t.

Again, some people are greatly exaggerating the landscape. Klapper, while a really good player, isn’t the kind of recruit that has the leverage to demand those kinds of payments.

You misunderstood my story. My wife wanted to start a GoFundme with some of our neighbors because she didn't realize what NIL was. This kid indeed is getting paid to take visits. Like I said, he just came back from Eugene last weekend, he's not visiting Eugene, OR a week before his commitment date as a 4star recruit on his own dime. And Lanning is doing everything he can to stay getting talent from OH

And a kid from Cincy St. X to the Domers (fabled home of Catholicism - next to the Vatican). Who'd have thunk it....Cannot recollect home many kids from Cincy pipelined to ND, back in the day.
A lot! Especially from Moeller(Gerry Faust being a major reason). The reason why OSU didn’t land that many kids from the Nati for years, ND had their pick of the best, and most of the best went to GCL schools who funneled those kids to ND. I don’t even think Laurinitis tried much with Clapper, and I don’t blame him

This. Jakobe is a good prospect but why spend resources on a kid likely to go to ND when you have Sanna already in, Cincere Johnson likely being in before the summer is over, and a strong fighter's chance with Atkinson. Good luck to him at ND.
