2027 OH LB Brayton Feister (Verbal Offer)

Going back to yesteryear, Woody would only recruit tackles. If they didn't have footspeed, long arms, etc. then they were moved to guards or center. Guess the old adage is still in play, 'recruit the kid, and let him find his position later on'. Instead of recruiting bulky guys, UFM started recruiting speed (much like SEC). Now, the Buckeyes have both speed and strength (thanks Coach Mick). Guess the only thing one cannot teach is heighth. The rest can be taught. Seem to recollect that Ted Ginn was recruited to play one position, but he ultimately shone on the other side of the ball. Believe the system behind recruiting is so evolved now, what with testing, testing, doing something different etc (clear I don't know all that this entails), and have the kid find out what he's good at, and what he enjoys. Most of the good college athletes played both ways at their HS. Anyway, just be glad all we really have to do is turn on the tube, pop a cold one, and enjoy the show on tv. Go Bucks

So it looks like Feister will more than likely play LB at the college he chooses. But that place won’t be OSU. He’s getting some offers bigger than what OSU is offering. OSU coaches think he’s closer to his ceiling with his age. And tbh, they would be fine with just Cypher in the class and hitting the Portal for another 1 or 2. OSU will have 8 LBs on schollie next year even after Alliegro graduates, and they mainly play 2. Feister is a luxury(and would be an expensive one)

Maybe after we graduate some studs he ends up as a portal pickup then. Watching OSU blitz through to a title will probably make a lot of guys think again.
