2026 OH DL Jamir Perez is a Buckeye!!!

It may just be me, but I just don't see how Perez was much of a priority in this class. I've seen his weight listed anywhere from 330 to 360 and that alone has to be a concern. I watched a fair amount of Glenville games and I can't say he ever consistently popped for me....he's more a guy that gets by on size alone. His pad level is typically pretty high and he got out leveraged by smaller guys often. He's a good guy to keep tabs on and see how he develops his senior year, but this isn't one that is going to cause any concern as far as a Glenville pipeline issue. The connection of Ginn Sr to Columbus is as strong as ever and Perez would have been a very fringe take on the DL, especially this time in the cycle.

I saw that a lot too, but didn’t want to post it and make it seem like I was sounding like sour grapes. Especially with so many expecting him in the class. Geralds, Dean and Carey are all in play and all rated higher, but none of the, have Perez’ size and ability to be a true 1 tech. And I wouldn’t rule out a possible flip sometime in the fall if he hasn’t really shut down his recruitment

I don't think Perez is good enough to have that type of leverage.

And the fact that he's still going to take all of his OVs(and even take multiple unofficials to OSU in season) shows this one is far from over. I think this was a young kid who was excited over his 1st big school visit and jumped the gun

Relatively speaking he has secured a spot. Can’t blame the young man for that.

Was thinking along those lines as well. OK, get an offer, check. Make a commitment, check. Now start taking visits to see how can leverage one's worth, to be checked. Of course, Florida can always pull his offer, if they get someone higher on their DL list, no?

The verbal offer and verbal acceptance have always been worth the paper they are written on.
In today's climate the written offer and acceptance are both pretty much worth the paper the verbals are written on.
