2026 OH DL Jamir Perez (Florida Soft Verbal)

Am guessing staff met with Coach Mick and asked whether he could get Perez down to 310, with most of it becoming 'good weight' aka turning fat into muscle, with an exercise and diet plan. Also hoping Perez is talking with other Glenville Buckeyes, Arvell Reese especially, as he has become chiseled from his roly-poly HS self. (just wanted to work in roly-poly)...Go Bucks!

Well he's already down to the 340lb range from what I've heard at the last OSU camp he attended.

Probably will depend on which southern guys Florida lands at DL. Recollecting my own youth, trading in those greasy cheeseburgers (anyone else remember those 15 cent hamburgers (not from golden arches either) for some broiled chicken? Just got back from Lake Erie (with wife and daughter), and reacquianted myself with perch. Had it for five meals straight, and then upgraded to a walleye bowl (w/o fries, just more cole slaw). Gained 5 pounds easy. Back home now, and salads.

Per 11w poster:
Perez won’t (publicly) announce his commitment until before his first game on 8/22. I’m assuming he’s a silent commit though, since all the FL insiders put in an RPM to OSU at the same time recently.
FWIW, Birm has intimated several times that Perez has committed to the staff. He keeps mentioning Perez publicly committing (italicizing it for emphasis). Not that there was a lot of doubt, but I think it's safe to count Perez in the class.
