2025 OH ATH Chaz Coleman (Penn St. Verbal)

In-state prospect Chaz Coleman drawing interest from OSU

With the first few weeks of the high school football season underway, the senior tape from one in-state prospect has intrigued Ohio State a bit thus far. Three-star Ohio prospect Chaz Coleman has heard from the Buckeyes and will likely visit OSU in a few weeks for the Marshall contest, per 247Sports.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Coleman plays quarterback for Warren G. Harding High School, but that won’t be where he plays in college. Normally we hate using the term “athlete” in our write-ups because technically all recruits are athletes, but the implied meaning of that term applies here in that Coleman could play multiple positions at the next level, including tight end and defensive end.

“Well I just tell people to watch his basketball highlights and they'll understand," Harding coach Matt Richardson told 247Sports. "I told people in the spring you don't have to see him play football to give him a football scholarship, just watch that. He can do it all on the field. If he had been training as a quarterback since the sixth grade like others, he would be getting recruited as a quarterback. A lot of schools see him as an athletic tight end who can do different things as well as a Wildcat quarterback. I see him as an edge. I think he's an edge. That's my opinion and people who make more money than me like him as a tight end, but athletically, he can do anything.”

In the past few weeks, Coleman has picked up offers from Kentucky and Ole Miss and has received interest from Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame in addition to Ohio State. He will visit Kentucky this weekend and hopes to get to Michigan State, OSU and Ole Miss for gameday visits at some point this fall.

Chaz Coleman had zero Power 5 offers as of one month ago.
Penn State, Ole Miss, and Kentucky have all offered since.
Coleman's film from his first four games has been outstanding, his upside is through the roof.

Per Birm
Chaz is a replacement for Justin Hill in the class.

Said Hill has been entirely unreceptive to communication with Ohio State since committing to Bama.
