I suppose if you're staggering around with a bottle of Jack and no shirt on, or if you're cruising down the street with a beer bong that a cop might hassle you, but outside of that if you're not screwing anything up for anyone and you're not obviously shitfaced, nobody cares...

even thats a strech as i have pulled this off more than a few times on game day.....

as far as restraunts, a couple he left off

Hill's Cafe - on south congress, homestyle cooking
Matt's El Rancho - tex mex on south lamar....my personal favorite along with maudies

those were the first two that came to mind

also if you like sushi you are in luck, Austin is filled with great sushi bars and resraunts

Alright! Finally booked my plane tickets. Now I'm looking at hotels. Seems like everything between 6th St. and Campus is booked solid. I'm looking at hotels in and around Highland Mall (La Quinta, Drury Inn, and a Super 8...plus a couple others). Good? Bad? They have openings and I'll have a rental car so I don't need to be walking everywhere.

EDIT: I can't wait. I made reservations at the La Quinta at Highland Mall. Doesn't look to bad, $78 a night, a little less than 3 miles from the stadium. I'm pumped, all I need is a game ticket now! C'mon student lottery!

What do you guys feel for paying $450 for a ticket via Stubhub.com? Should I wait it out or go ahead and buy? You guys think this ticket price will go down any?

the price will go down for sure. I am as big of a fan as anyone of overpaying a little just to avoid hassel but thats even a bit much for me. Pluss as was already said, Stubhub kills you on mark ups

I have a question for our fellow Texas fans. Are most of the bars in Austin 21 and over, or 18 and over? There are a couple of under 21 girls that wanted to make the trip with us, but my buddies wanted to go bar hopping. Any information would be appreciated.

Most bars on sixth street and fourth street are 21 and up, there are a few clubs that are under 21, and back in the day, it was easy enough to fake id it into most bars, and it might be easier to do with an out of state ID on this particular weekend. You can always drop girls off at our tailgate while you go bar hopping.

Even if a majority of the clubs on 6th are 21 and up there are plenty of places that are 18 and up. If a place looks interesting just ask the doorman or see if they are doing wrist bands. Some shittier places resort to putting black Xs on the back of their hands with magic markers, which sucks.

The warehouse district around 4th is mostly 21 and up, so I wouldn't go their unless you've picked out a specific club that you know is OK with 18 year olds.

I was in the LaQuinta Inn rooms back in May ......they are pretty nice inside.......outside is alright..........that area isn't bad where it's at...but before Highland Mall is pretty bad.

You're still close to everything.

The thing about Austin.....when there is no traffic......even tho it has over 1 million people (metro area)......it still has that small town feel to it.....you can get almost anywhere in town within 15 minutes.......(with no traffic of course) Traffic tho is brutal here because of the growth........it's pretty much a cluster f**K.

Game time that day I think I-35 (LOWER AND UPPER DECKS) will be backed up for MILES.

I know Emo's is under 21.....we got my friend's sister in there. It's not a bad place.......there aren't many tho that are under 21.
