Alan Branch
DT, TSUN

The 'Skins also considered DE Jamaal Anderson from Arkansas, but Daniel Snyder threatened to resign Bruce Smith & Deion Sanders if he was ignored again (he desperately wanted Hester in the 2nd).

Snyder would also like to announce that he has dibs on Adalius Thomas in the upcoming FA market.

Hope you enjoyed that pick, jwins. Wen's the next one? 5th round?

With the 8th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select OT Levi Brown of Penn State University. We have come to the conclusion that help on the offensive line has been extant for quite some time. And although David Carr may not be around next season, we would like to assure our next quarterback at least minimal protection. We also hope to amend our past mistakes from past drafts and hope to gradually make progress.

With the 9th pick of the first round, the Miami Dolphins select....Brady Quinn, QB Notre Dame. With the Dolphins recently releasing Joey Harrington, the only two qb's on the roster are a still injured Daunte Culpepper and Cleo effing Lemon. Quinn provides for insurance if Daunte doesn't return to his old form and gives them a legitimate franchise type qb for the first time since Dan Marino (if Culpepper doesn't come all the way back that is)...

No one taking Jamaal Anderson really complicated this pick. Yet the Falcons stick to their plan and with the 10th selection select......LSU S LaRon Landry. Landry has shown he can make plays all over the field and is a very good tackler. His 4.35 40 at the combine proves not many WR will run past him in coverage either. With increasing age and average play at the S position LaRon should shore up some of the deep balls that consistently have hurt the Atlanta secondary. Pencil him in as a starter instantly.
