Official 2006 BP Mock Draft Thread

Vote time :)

Buffalo badly needs a safety; With Lawyer Milloy cut, that leaves them with a 35 year old Troy Vincent as the only reliable starter, and he won't be getting any younger.

Bernard Pollard Purdue. He was named Freshman All-American after posting 66 tackles and 3.5 for loss. As a sophomore, he was even more active, notching 96 tackles, three for loss, with one sack and one interception. The tackle numbers were again very impressive as a junior this season, where he finished the year with 92, and he even upped his interception total to three for the year.
Pollard’s strength is clearly attacking the line of scrimmage. With his size and strength, he can play like an extra linebacker in the running game. He can weed through traffic and lay a lick on the ball carrier. He breaks down well and space and can tackle in the open field. Pollard also has the pure athleticism to play in coverage and he has improved every year on his cover skills. He is also a standout special teamer.

Actually that is who i was going to pick anyway...So with the next pick of the 2006 draft the buffalo bills select Bernard Pollard S from Purdue

Since there was a break in the action, I think now is a good time to change the time limit from 12 hours to 10 hours. We'll be picking for Detroit since he hasn't been on in about 11 days. Voting can start at 6:42 PM.

With the Lions taking defenders in the first 2 rounds, I would've gone for an offensive lineman here. I was thinking of a solid tackle like Andrew Whitworth out of LSU (6-7, 334, 5.15).

Edwards always struck me as a bit of an underachiever, not someone who's going to come in and add that competitive fire the Lions have been so woefully lacking recently (and not-so-recently :().

Just my 0.02.

sears is probably running around boston with a hard on after today's game, but he is still on the clock.

Mark Loretta already has a restraining order against me.

Anyways, with the 11th pick of the 3rd round, the Patriots select.....

Danieal Manning, CB/S, Abilene Christian

Athletic prospect with outstanding size/speed numbers. Fluid flipping his hips in transition, has a burst of closing speed and flashes on the scene. Quickly breaks to the throw, aggressive supporting the run and physical in all aspects of the game. Also, a dangerous return man.

The Philadelphia Eagles select DT John McCargo out of North Carolina State.

We believe that McCargo is a very good player, and fills one of our needs at depth for defensive tackle. McCargo was part of the nasty defensive line of NC State, and we are excited to be able to pick him up at this point in the draft.
