Odell Thurman-Legal Troubles?

Can't say I give a damn. Its just a matter of time until he gets into it again, and I'd rather he not be on the Bungle's active roster when it happens.

They've got enough degenerates. Don't need this one back, too.

Ehh would have been nice if they would have reinstated him so that way the Bengals could have just cut all ties with him. That way when he fucks up again, he is a former Bengal

I would have to agree with that, unless of course there is stuff that the public does not know about. It could be possible that he failed a drug test, since "officially" the results aren't suppose to be known to the public.

Doubt it, since another failed test would ban him for life.

Suspended Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman violated his Hamilton County probation and must show up in court to explain why.

Thurman, who was suspended all of last season and for all of the 2007 season by the NFL, was supposed to report to his Hamilton County probation officer July 24.

When he didn?t, Probation Officers Liz Albert and Bob Lutkenhoff filed a criminal complaint against him for not reporting.

They also said Thurman still owes $574 in fees, fines and costs due the probation department.

Odell, welcome to the company! You'll have a meeting with Mr. Vick, our CEO in the morning. Until then, let's go meet some of your co-workers: Mr. Jones is your line-leader, his friends call him pac-man. And you already know Mr. Henry. He recommended you very highly.

What a Dumb Ass!

The Enquirer - Judge rips NFL for penalty

Judge rips NFL for penalty
Burlew calls league hypocritical since teams sell alcohol :roll1:
BY SHARON COOLIDGE | [email protected]

A judge told suspended Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman on Tuesday that the NFL was wrong to suspend him for the coming season over a drunken-driving conviction.
The judge's comments came during a hearing on a probation violation case that was postponed so Thurman could get a lawyer.
During the hearing, Hamilton County Municipal Judge John Burlew blasted the National Football League, calling officials "hypocrites" for promoting alcohol consumption during games but punishing their employees for drinking. Continued...

Thurman applies again for reinstatement
BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

MIAMI - Suspended Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman has applied for reinstatement from the NFL and should learn his fate in the second week of February following the Super Bowl.
Safarrah Lawson, one of Thurman's representatives, said Sunday that Thurman is optimistic about his chances and looking forward to playing again.
Thurman was suspended for one year for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. His application for reinstatement in July was denied by the league, and he was told he could re-apply after the 2007 season.

Lewis has high hopes for Thurman
BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

One of the most potentially heartwarming stories of any Bengals? seasons continues to unfold privately away from media attention: Odell Thurman?s comeback.
An admitted alcoholic, a confession he has made publicly in a Hamilton County courtroom, Thurman was suspended for essentially two years by the NFL for repeated violation of its substance abuse policy.
In January, the league allowed Thurman to return to working out at Paul Brown Stadium with teammates and the club?s strength and conditioning coaches. That decision was a positive indicator that Thurman would be reinstated by the NFL.

Path clearing for Thurman
Lewis' praise bodes well for suspended LB
ANALYSIS BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

Odell Thurman must be reinstated by the NFL before he can return to the field as a Bengals linebacker, but recent signs point to the likelihood that fans will see Thurman in uniform come September.
Three weeks after receiving permission from the league to return to Paul Brown Stadium to train with teammates and meet with defensive coaches, Thurman received an endorsement Wednesday from head coach Marvin Lewis.
Lewis spoke positively of Thurman's approach to both his alcoholism and his job as a football player, which perhaps Thurman once took for granted.
It's a case of somebody who is a good man. He has meant nobody (any) harm. He has been his own worst (enemy)," Lewis said. "At some point he obviously didn't do something right. Unfortunately, early on, when he had the opportunity to turn this around, it didn't register. Now it has."

Thurman ruling due soon
BY MARK CURNUTTE | [email protected]

INDIANAPOLIS - On Wednesday, the eve of the NFL scouting combine, league commissioner Roger Goodell said a decision on Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman's possible reinstatement from suspension would be made before the start of training camp, which opens in late July.
"What we wanted to do was get him back in a structured environment," Goodell said. "He's in the program. He can make progress. If he can do that, we will make a decision prior to training camp."
The NFL last month allowed Thurman, suspended for the past two years for repeated violations of the league substance abuse policy, to begin working out at Paul Brown Stadium with his teammates and meeting with coaches.

From staff and wire reports

Odell Thurman is officially back with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Police seek former Bengals linebacker Thurman

Saturday, July 12, 2008 5:12 PM

ASSOCIATED PRESS
SANDUSKY, Ohio ? Northern Ohio authorities were seeking former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman yesterday on a felonious assault warrant, police said.

The 25-year-old Thurman, of Cincinnati, was indicted last week by an Erie County grand jury on the charge, accusing him of punching a 19-year-old North Royalton man, the Erie County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
Detective Bob Lippert said Thurman punched the man in the face, breaking his jaw, on May 27 at Kalahari Waterpark Resort in Sandusky after they argued about a place in line.
Thurman's agent Safarrah Lawson said he had been unable to speak to his client and could not comment on the charges. A message seeking comment was left late yesterday with Thurman's lawyer John Michels.
