I don't think we can draw any conclusions about half time adjustments from a game against the Zips, but there was definitely 2nd half improvement.
Due to the defensive touchdowns, there were only 5 offensive possessions in the 2nd half, the last of which was a 1-play victory-formation "possession". The 4th possession was all backups.
That leaves 3 possessions for the starters on offense, though the 3rd possession did feature a fair few backups. They scored touchdowns on all 3 of those possessions.
Now we just need to get that performance in the 1st half against inferior opponents; though admittedly that has never happened in game 1, not for as long as I can remember. I think you might have to go back to the Cooper years, though it is likely there is something I'm forgetting
