“Get the ball to 4”

Just sayin': The consistent answer to almost any situation in 2026 to the question: What play should we run?

Day basically said "anyone who knows football said it was a homerun hire." Looking forward to what he brings to the table.
Reminds me the time my son’s school principal sent out an email to tell parents not to teach their children math. I truly admired his courage considering that it was in Hong Kong and most of the parents were Chinese.

Well golly. With the depth of knowledge and understanding in BP, one would wonder why Day & Co didn't run this hire by us before he pulled the trigger. "in the know" could mean many things. Am not an NFL follower, and tend to watch the players more than the coordinators. Am certain that Day asked his trusted sources about him, and came away satisfied. So, much like Patricia, Buckeye Nation is taking a 'wait and see' stance on this guy. Hopefully (!), he pans out like Patricia did. PS, we'll see how well the D looks, filling the holes left by players moving on. Second and third years are the truth years. Point being, Day felt secure enough with the hire to trust his $10+million salary to this hire, so who are we to judge?

Setting the good hire/bad hire aside for a second, I really wish people would stop using terrible arguments.

Terrible argument #1: Day hired him, so he must be good!
Day could hire literally anybody and that would apply. It's a bad argument right from the start......and then when you realize people like Tim Beck and Bill Davis were also hired by championship winning head coaches, it really hammers it home. Just because he was hired, doesn't make him good.

Terrible argument #2: Matt Patricia was a hated hire, and he worked out!
OK? So now every single hire that fans hate is going to also end the same way? I refer back to Tim Beck. My reaction to this hire or the Patricia hire have 0 bearing on whether or not either of them are good hires. So why use one to bolster the other?

Agree or disagree all you want.....but at least bring arguments that hold water for more than half a second.

Ahhh, Tim Beck and Bill Davis, PERFECT examples.
